SUDS - sudden failure of USB syncing

Has anyone with a clie experienced this problem? Many people have had static electricity problems when using a palm m505 which causes their palm to not sync via a usb cradle. I think this may have happened to my Clie 615. I can sync via infared but not usb. I am going to try the "dot 3 shortcut" tonight to drain the battery in order to see if that works. Let me know if anyone out there has tried this method with success. Thanks.

I had a similar problem and suspected SUDS. I in fact posted the same link to Brighthand on this forum with the same question.

I was unable to hotsynch via cradle or cable, but was okay via IR. I did all the rebooting, reload ing and resetting recommended by Sony but with no luck. (check the tech support website) I also tried dot 3 with no success. One telling symptom was the fact that my MS Import was working thru the cradle which seem to indicate that the USB connection and cradle were okay.

I called tech support and it was concluded that my problem was with the hardware. I had to send it in for repair and have since gotten back. It is BTW now synching fine.
