I just canceled my one-day-old account with T-Mobile Hotspot. Palm OS is not supported at this time.

yes it is compatible. i have used my NX and NZ in a Starbuck's before. you have to set your SSID in the network settings to read tmobile. then you go to your browser, hit refresh and you'll go to the tmobile login screen, login then you start surfing or emailing.

Actually, I am in two minds right now. I have been using T-Mobile with both my Laptop and the NZ. however this week something changes and I can easily see the T-mobile screen when I refresh the browser. BUT there the two boxes for userid and password are missing. it is a new screen, I am sure they did something new. because I am simply not able to get them to come up and have several calls in for tech support. THat said. they promote the use of PDA's big time through StarBucks, so I am pretty sure they will get it fixed quickly... (VERY quickly. he he)
Call them and bug them.

it seems that netfront does not always get the boxes... save the login screen as a bookmark, and go there when you connect, i think you can get it to work 100%.... I have...

Greg,
Actually, talking with T-Mobile tech support it seems like it is better to save 1.1.1.1 as the address since each Starbucks have a different log-in screen and address, meaning that if you bookmark a different one, you might have problems in a new Starbucks. Well at least that is what they told me.

i think the support guy smoked too much pot....
you save a www.t-mobile.com/xxxxx url.... the name is not different for each starbucks....
what i have noticed is that the signal level sucks, and it drops connections on my buddies with the internal wifi ....

It depends on the Starbucks whether or not it will work. They are not all compatible. I've been able to get it to work at one in the area, and only the first time. If the connection is closed, I try to log in but it keeps returning me back to the login screen after I tap on Submit (or Go, ?).
It is very flaky and inconsistent.
OK I tried a couple of Starbucks today, everyone worked after I did find a place with enough signal to actually connect. (smile)
Process, open NetFont Tap Connect, if it goes to retry, press Cancle and move to anohter place in the room, closer to the StarBucks back room office where the transmitter is, though sometimes the sweet spot is other places in the room.
Once the unit connects you know are in a good spot.
Click on one of your book marks and the default screen will come up, scroll down, at amost the buttom you should see the words "connect to the internet" click on them, and you will get the log in screen.
Enter your User ID and Password and click on the GO That is the grey button under the password box.
You are clear to surf. if you want to check e-mail, you can now go to the launcher and select the e-mail software. it will work just fine.
