I just purchased a J30 for my Wife and a J22 for myself. We will be syncing both of them through the same sync cable on my PC, but through two different Win2000 logins.

I did have a Palm M515 connected using Hotsync 4.1 and it synced fine as of last night, but getting the Sony's, I installed the Sony software and neither of the Sony's will sync. I've removed the old software and re-installed, yet when I select the sync option on the Sony's, the desktop never responds. I checked Hotsync andUSB is selected.

Any ideas?

Are you trying to hot sync in the same login that you installed the program. Sounds dumb I know but I have that problem at work....everything seems ok but win 2000 just won't let me unless I log in as an administrator even though I am a power user:(

Got solution.

We have two logons... both are in the Admin users group. She logs in as XXX and I login as YYY.

When I installed the desktop software for her login, I placed it in the same directory name as mine, but I placed a "2" at the end... ohterwords my desktop software is in "Sony Handheld" and her's is in "Sony Handheld 2" and they each "MUST" be installed while in the corresponding logon. I did this with everything, such as "Avantgo" and "Avantgo 2" or... "Documents to go" and "Documents to go 2".

This is working great.

works great but don't you think it's kind of stupid to have to install software twice on the same machine so two logins can use it? That's the wasy it is with XP home too:( BTW you don't have to have them with different names.

This works out good for us because my Wife can then have her won background, her own Windows Themes and such and I can also seperate software by placing my software insode my own start menu so she doesn't acidently hose it up.
