I'd also like to know some feedbacks from people with ChineseOS T5 using this update. Any improvements or new bugs after installing this patch? Does it conflicts with the ChOS that comes with your T5? (Which I am worried a lot about.) The Chinese (Hong Kong) Palm website doesn't have this OS Update v1.1 yet.

I have installed and posted my experience at palminfocenter.com here:

Hope that helps people out some. And yes, its legit and works fine.

I attempted to install the update and MAN am I sorry I did! Crashed while loading the update (more than enough space available) Now I get a fatal exception every time I try to hotsync. Doing a hard reset to try again but I am not impressed.

Tried again and now its in a fatal exception reset loop
hours of manual labor to follow.....when will I learn to leave well enough alone.

I got one crash too, I did a soft reset and then ran the ROM update, since it was a program in RAM, from the device. It asks you to connect your charger to do so, and then goes along somewhat smoothly. I had one reset at the end, but other than that, it was pretty painless. THe problem lies in the current ROM. At least that wont/shouldnt be an issue anymore.

How long did it take to update rom? My T5 is stucked for 40 min. Is it normal?

I'm doing the update on my very temporary T5 (it's a refurb'd replacement for my original T5, but it's got other issues and I'm awaiting the replacement for the replacement). I applied it to a "blank" device (i.e. freshly hard reset). It took about 10 minutes including the hotsync, ROM flashing, and subsequent screen taps, etc. The process was painless. I doubt I'll put it through its paces, though. I'm awaiting the next T5 before I go through the process of restoration, reconfiguration, etc.

Once I hard reset and installed update without reinstalling backup files, it worked. Maybe I had a few questionable apps before but I had no problems that I knew of.

No. That happened to me, too, and a soft reset cleared it. You probably didn't disable all your system extensions. Of course if you do a reset and your T5 becomes a doorstop, I didn't tell you to do anything.

Clear it. I did hard reset and reinstalled it. That worked softly. Thanks.

Just want to answer my own question: This update doesn't work on Chinese T5 yet. The "little warning" of the download page says:

IMPORTANT: If you are using a Chinese language device, do NOT install this software. A Chinese language version of this update is not available at this time.

I wish the warning is a little bigger. Lucky I've asked around before I really perform the patch (almost did).
