Did any one installed Barcode/13http://www.palmgear.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=software.showsoftware&prodid=105848&PartnerREF=&siteid=1 in your TH55? Does it work properly?
Thank you very much

As much as i wish it did, it does not work with Clie cameras. Maybe some smart dev could adapt it to Clie cameras :D

What's the resolution of the Treo cameras? The TH55 is only 640x480, and I suspect this isn't high enough to get a decent reading of the bar code (Esp. since the TH55 isn't all that great taking macro shots)
If they could adapt it for the TH55 that'd be incredibly cool 'tho :D
I must admit I can't think of a great deal of uses for it in my day-to-day life, but it would sit next to IR Monitor on my specially named CoolPointlessCrap catagory :D

Treo is only 640x480. But the new Treo 650, while still only 640x480, has a better quality lens than the Treo 600.
I disagree reagrding macro shots. I think my TH55 does very well at 6" to 12". It's crap for anything past 36" though, which is why I'm spending time and money to come up with a corrective lens for TH. It's myoptic, and really only good for closeup shots for the address book.

ROFL! Wow, that's very interesting!
My one is utter crap for close-up shots, but for long-range wide views it works much better!
I wonder if the /U and /E1 have different lenses?!?

Pray, do post an example; I'd really like to see the difference, if any.

Hmmm... to my embarassment I am having trouble doing this...
I was going to post a couple of VGA PNGs of the screenshots, but apparently they are too big to attach??

... on Yahoo, and then link to the images. That way I can download the original file and do a side-by-side in Photoshop.
OR,
Just email them to me:

Replace the 'AT' with @

BTW, you can apparently buy optional 'clip-on' style lenses for the TH from Brando (I think) that modify the focal system (e.g. fisheye, macro, long-range, wide-angle, bleh....)
By reading the user comments, it doesn't seem to work very well.

The clip on lenses from Brando simply magnify or distort whatever image is already there. They won't make a fuzzy image clearer...
Did you get the images?
