From description, apparently only fixes hotsync issue. Not sure why it takes that long just for that. Also it doesn't say, but I assume it is a free upgrade for v9 owners. You also get to see another ad for Worldmate Pro vaporware, when you run the upgrade.
I do like the app, but am seriously underwelmed by the developer. I'm hoping that will be the only time I see an ad from this product, that I purchased.
Got it a month ago. It is indeed speed-up the cleaning up database pause. IMHO, it is one of the most useful app for $8.

I just downloaded the trial version. I like the app, but it won't give me any weather updates (or any weather at all for that matter). I have setup the conduit in the way that seems obvious, but it will not update the weather, clock, currencies, etc. It hotsyncs (the log says Ok Worldmate), but it will not update any info.
Any help???

I know that you said you set up the conduit - but just to be sure:
Right click the hotsync button on your computer
Highlight Worldmate
Click change
Check - enable sync
Online content every 0 hours
Check Updte Palm Time
Check Updte PC Time
Uncheck use proxy if you are at home
At work I can't seem to sync too because of the proxy and our firewall (still looking for a way)
I am in California and if I hot sync 7:00 am
- I get the day's weather and 4 days forecast
- Currency is usually yesterday's rate

or uninstall and reinstall (both your computer and palm)
- follow the instructions, I think at certain point during installations it ask you to hot sync
- then after this is done (the installation process) hotsync again with the above suggestions

When the Hotsync fails for you at work, does it look like it's even trying? Do you get a proxy error or anything? I'm at work now (firewall, etc. in place) and it looks like it tries for about 2 seconds and then goes on to something else. No dialog, error, or anything. Is this your experience also?
I'll try reinstalling also.
Let me know. Thanks.

That wasn't tremendously noticable because the graphics already looked pretty good. But when I read that hi-res was part of the 9.1 upgrade and looked closely, I can tell the difference - smooth edges on the clocks, etc.
The reason it takes a while in updating is that it uploads all the cities' weather updates, not just the ones you have selected. Change one of yours to another city and the weather is there. That's a fair amount of data.
Yes it is free to 9.0 owners.

Has anyone tried Time Place 4? I demoed this a while back and liked the graphics, alarm, integration with the datebook, as well as being able to have your appts. online for sharing with others. However, I kinda like the weather feature on this app though.
Just curious...

Yes, same here when I sync at work. It seems like it it syncing, and it completes but does not sync. No error message, nothing, nor any kind of a message.
I still do not know the answer when I sync at work. At home, no problem at all...

Here's a recent e-mail from MobiMate:
Dear Mate
If it doesn't work behind the firewall, then that firewall is not supported,
we will support more firewalls in future versions, for now, the easiest
solution for you will be to sync with a PC that is not behind the Firewall
or by using a wireless modem or a mobile phone (one that has a built in
modem and an Infra Red port)
Regards,
Amir
The MobiMate Team.
So, perhaps in a future version, we'll be able to sync through our respective firewalls. I know it's possible, I do it with AvantGo every day.

Thank you, Isa43J. As you said, at least there is hope - and hope that they do it soon.

I set it to "Do Nothing" at work (because of firewall issues) and it works great at home on Roadrunner.

I did the same. I'm not sure how often they plan to update the app, but I'll try to keep my eye on it.
BTW wellsjs, I love that avatar.
