I had a problem where I couldn't turn my UX on or even charge it on the cradle. I let the battery run dead and after about 2 weeks put it back on the charger. All of a sudden, it was charging again!!!! I was able to restore with BackupBuddy, but had alread bought a T5 in the meantime.

Does anyone know if this will be an ongoing problem? I would like to switch back to the UX full time, but am obviously gun-shy. If this is an ongoing problem, can I do anything to fix it besides sending back to Sony?

It is an ongoing problem. I sent mine to Sony and they had to replace the mother board. Try searching for "Sudden Clie Death Syndrome". You are not alone with this problem, I think all UX has it.

Replacing UX50 battery, it is not so hard. U can buy one on Ebay, even 3.7V battery, it will works well.
T5 is my ugly experience. No Wifi, no voice recorder...

well, dont mean to scare you, but....This problem happens with T5's as well!!!! I had my T5 brand new and i was pretty happy. But the next day, it died....Then when ive finally figured out how to fix it, it died the very next day, again! and again! 3 times it broke down. Then ive figured out a way to fix the problem permanatly (for the T5) after ive fixed it, it hasnt broke down for a month. Then i sold it cause it was a crappy device. But if i could fix that with the T5, then its possible your UX can be fixable.
