ZL_Zoopie skin for Zlauncher 3

I just fixed some stuff and created some missing buttons. Nothing great, but it will do until you release your version.

For some, reason, the bitmap families were not updated, so the TT version does not work (yet)

Updated again. It still doesn't work to well for the TT, but it's usable... problem is, the TT uses a different system, if bitmaps are bigger then they are supposed to be. Also there are transparency issues with ALL new buttons, so I had to replace the background with plain white

For some reason, I've downloaded this updated Zoopie skin two times, deleting it from my Clie each time, and each time I reinstall, I still only get the older version of the skin. I can't seem to get a version with icons for file manager, etc. =(

Hmmm.... I'm using it on my Clié myself with no problems, although I have to admit that I only added images for the scroll buttons and the new tab bars.... I don't know about Icons for the filemanager. Just try to set the tab mode to left and you'll know if you have th new version installed, since the new version's side tabs look just like the ones when you set it to "top".

jamester: try temporarily install another theme, then copy and overwrite the updated Zoopie on your MS then select it again using Theme Manager.

jaylow: do u mean my version or handssmucker's? mine does include several new icons, i think his doesn't (refer his post above)

did the old version worked on your clie before?

i should mention that i tested this on my nr70 only, and also nx70 (via palmsim). i haven't tried on other clies becoz sony's POSE emulator is damn slow on my pc. (nr70 emulation takes like a minute to boot up!)

Congratulations rincon. I like yours.

P.S. My updated skin was just a hack-ish attempt to add the left and bottom tabs, since I wanted my skin on the left. I also needed the change tab buttons, so I added them. I didn't add a filemanager gadget because I rarely use use gadgets at all, except for changing the viewing preferences.
So, for a real skin: use rincon's version

Now that was interesting. I'm on a T665. I deleted the old Zoopie and tried to install rincon's. After the hotsync, the file wasn't there. I tried twice. Then I tried hansschmucker's and it loaded. Then I installed rincon's again over top and it worked. Very strange.

Anyone else run into this? Maybe I shouldn't have deleted the original.

I guess that I need some kind of remedial help too. Rincon, I have loaded your theme and I don't see the new gadget icons (file manager, theme manager, etc.) or the little arrow that toggles the top icon bar. The side tabs work OK. It wouldn't hotsync, so I have been using MSImport. I have a T615, if that makes any difference. Any ideas?

i'm sorry. i really cannot explain the problems you guys are having. i've always use the MS way to install zlauncher skins and never had any problems so far. it's weird how some ppl have problems while others are fine *scratches head*

jerryf: just make sure you're using the correct version. my side tabs have light stripes while handschmucker's are plain color. his doesn't have any new icons either. are you loading the right one?

fwiv, i booted up the POSE emulator with t615 rom and the theme came up fine.

OK, rincon, I have got your theme working. It looks great. I guess being able to read should be some kind of prerequisite. It seems I was loading the old file (over and over). One must be patient with those determined to be stupid. thanks

hermann: i haven't any experience fixing TT skins before and besides, I don't have anything to test it on. you could try emailing Juni, the original creator of this skin. he did the TT version.

if you are game, you could try editing it yourself. i use Constructor from the Metroworks SDK. you can copy the appropriate bitmaps from my file and paste it into the TT file.

congratulations to hansschmucker and rincon for adapting an all-time favorite skin to the upcoming version of ZLauncher. :D you guys rock !

A small question: would it be possible to have the tools and control panel withouth the bottom of the blue circle ? (see image on the left).

I mean, if someone wants to use another background it doesn't look so nice.

On Palmspirit there was a version (for ZL 2) without that circle.

mariec: well, it's a simple enough request. personally the circle doesn't bother me coz it's so light and i hardly ever use the tool and control panels. i don't mind doing your request but is there really enough ppl bothered about this?

i mean, i don't wanna keep uploading more Zoopie versions to the skin section and confuse ppl! (the Zlauncher skin section is a jumbled mess as it is now :))

anyway, i read that zl beta 2 may have icons for another new gadget so maybe when i update that i'll include the no-circle bitmaps. also, there's still some parts of the current zoopie that has tt gfx that i need to replace. also wanna get rid of the ugly black palm icon in the file manager :D

You heard correct - ZLauncher 3.0b2 includes a new gadget that pops up ALL gadget icons - ie: if you don't have the trash gadget on your top or bottom bar, you could drag it to the new gadget, which would pop up ALL gadgets, then over to the delete gadget.

So yeah, all of the skins that have been updated for 3.0 will need to be updated again. :)

bobbd, you're not the only one. I also tried to hotsync the new skin several times, and couldn't find it anywhere, couldn't see it in Theme Manager, and couldn't find it with the built in file manager or FileZ. I loaded it directly to Memory Stick via MS Import, and it worked just fine. Curiouser and curiouser...

I did have a little chore getting it set. It seems that some of us run into these issues. Initially I installed it over top of the old one. That didn't work. I deleted the old one and tried to install it, but it wouldn't install into RAM. Which is probably why it wouldn't install over top of the original. Eventually I installed to the MS and copied it to RAM. That worked.

sorry guys, the file i uploaded earlier had a little teeny problem. the "all-button" gadget after pressed leave a few pixel artifacts. no biggie, but i hate these little pixels out of place :) i've just uploaded the fixed version:-

Love this skin, thank you for the original and the redo for the newest version of ZLauncher. On my TT the file ZLT_ZoopieV4_OS5_64K.prc works great but with some exceptions.

The arrow just above the scroll bar does not show and some of the icons for the new gadgets are not present, including the one for the all gadgets.

I have tried some other skins and they work. Have these icons been left out? I would try to fix them myself, but I do not have access to the tools and software, nor have I the knowledge.

I have even tried the Clie version (ZLT3_Zoopie_Hi_64K.prc) uploaded to Cliesource, it works perfectly only it has a Clie in the popup toolbar and I am a proud TT owner (Previous NR Owner, used to hang out here a lot, still tons of good info, hence my presence)

I was hoping this awesome (my favorite) skin might be fixed up to work 100% with my TT.
