Data disappeared

I have a T3. Last week, I went to check what time an appointment was to take place and discovered it was gone. And so were the rest of my appointments for the week. I have since noticed that many of my appointments for the year 2005 have all disappeared, as well as some from 2004. When I did a 'find' search to find out when I last visited a particular doctor, e.g., I discovered that the last time was in 2002, and I know that's not right.

Any ideas why it happened, how I can recover data and how I can avoid the problem in the future?

I don't use a back up program on the computer - just hot sync. And I back up regularly on a card, but it rewrites with the new data at each back up.

What are you syncing to on the desktop? Outlook? Palm Desktop?

Outlook has an annoying "archive" feature that has confused clients of mine in the past.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it doesn't seem logical that it could be the installation of the Palm software because I've had the T3 for at least 6 months and the data disappearing problem just happened last week. Do you agree? Have you any other possible explanations? Is there any way that I might find the data on my hard drive? I'm just worried because my Palm is my memory, and I don't remember what appointments I've made in the next weeks and months that may have vaporized. TIA!
