I just downloaded UnLogic Movie Converter Version 1.0.3, when I went to explore my DVD, I found that all of the episodes are titled oddly and there are more files in the DVD than episodes.....what files do I convert.

I believe you need to concentrate on the .VOB files...

agreed, look for the largest files, which are almost always the VOB files. They usually range from 400 MB to over 1000 MB each.

I think I found the right ones... they are 30min family guy episodes and they are .99 gb, as the computer called it...does that sound right. And other ile types are smaller, can I use one of those. I don't want to waste all of the memory.

As far as I can recall, .VOB files have an upper size limit of ~0.99Gb so I think you have the correct files there. I am certain that all of the files you need to convert will be located in the VIDEO_TS folder - you can ignore everything in the AUDIO_TS one.

If my assumptions are right, you now have 4 video files that are about 500 MB each, am I right? well, there's another way to do things: the freeware way (that's what I call it; yes, I am pathetic, you don't need to remind me).

If you go here:
http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd2avi.cfm, you'll find my favourite rip-on-the-fly freeware app called DVD2AVI. It's a simple app, to figure out and use.

Once you finish writing the AVI files, you can use one of the many video joiners to put the 4 freshly ripped video files together, and finally use PocketDivXEncoder to lower the resolution, bitrate, and overall file size to fit your external card.
