Preventing analog drift

So I'm on my second Zodiac, and just when I think it's going to work perfectlly, it develops joystick drift. Since I don't think I can take it apart and fix it like everyone else is doing, I will probably just return it to compUSA and get a new one. What I'm wondering is, how can I prevent the same problem from occuring on yet a third Zodiac?

1. Don't force the analog stick.
2. Don't bang it.
3. Be GENTLE.
4. Carry it in a case so it isn't under constant pressure.

I've done these things for the 3/4 year I've had mine so far and I haven't had any problems whatsoever. :D

I've never even heard of the problem. After a year I've never recalicrated either the digitzer or the joystick.

Haven't had this issue either and I've had my Zod for quite sometime.

I have this problem :(

I'm considering RMA'ing it because I can't actually recalibrate it anymore, but it works okay-ish under normal use, with intermittant 'spikes'.

Frankly, the analog pad just isn't very durable IMHO - I must admit, I think the PSP's analog pad is be a lot tougher, but of course it isn't as comfortable to use...
