Is there a alternative PDA reader to acrobat. Im looking for something where files don't have to be converted before being placed on life drive.

Ditto. RepliGo is hands-down better than Picsel, Adobe and DTG combined. It's fast, it's accurate, it's stable and it's easy.

The only downside of RepliGo over Picsel is that it's non-native - Anything you want to view must be converted first so you can't download it via NetFront and view it :(
It is, however, a lot faster than Picsel (Even with Picsel Accelerator!), and doesn't choke as easily as Picsel does.
Since the LD doesn't come with Picsel and probably doesn't work with the hacked Picsel Browser very well (NVFS devices are a lot less forgiving on hacked code), your only real choices *are* Adobe and RepliGo, neither of which can read unconverted PDF's :(

I really wonder why Palm can be so retarded sometimes - Picsel on one of their MHz&RAM-monster PDA's would freaking *ROCK*.
On the TH55, it's very useful, but even with PicselAccelerator it's still too slow to be *really* useful.
On a T|3, the rendering speed would be phenominal, and that huge 64MB RAM space would mean Picsel would be less likely to choke on graphic-heavy PDFs!

I really am impressed wth Repligo. I converted a 1200 page PDF perfectly and cutthe file size by 3/4.

Slighty off topic. Can any of these options search the PDF? This may be the swing vote for me to trade-off with conversion. Cyker, I completely agree with your opinion on palm support of native PDF.

If you don't mind the conversion, I'd recommend it over Picsel - It's FAR more readable and a LOT faster.
I am fairly sure you can search PDF's in RepliGo, but you'd have to DL it to check for sure...
Picsel's two advantages are that it maintains layout correctly and it can view native files.
However, it's slow, can't load large files, is only available on some Clies, can't be searched, doesn't support Acrobat files above v5 properly and is very tedious to read mostly-text PDFs with.

This is also a solution I need since approx 40% of the attachments I receive via my work email account are pdf's. It would even be acceptable if when downloading the attachment instead of trying to pump it straight into Acrobat it put it through whatever conversion it needed and then opened it up.
Bottom line is that it needs to be fully functional on the pda and not converted on a laptop/desktop and then synced. Very surprised no one has made this happen yet. Not looking to convert to a ppc but how do these devices work with pdf attachments within pda emails?

Perfectly and natively of course.

Yeah, them damned PPC owners get native PDF support from the Adobe reader :(
There's no reason why they couldn't do it on Palm, but for some reason they make us use their crap convertor :(

I would love to get this to work especially since I am on my way out to Vegas tomorrow and would prefer to leave my laptop at home but I need a solution for native pdf support. I receive 3 emails daily that include pdf's that I must review. This is what I have done along with the results:
For those not wanting to find instructions, this is how Piscel can work for you.
1) Installed via hotsync to my SD card the following:
Picsel_Browser_eng.prc
English Language Pack.pdb
PicselAccelerator.prc
2) Copied Picsel Browser Core.pdb to the SD Palm/Launcher folder (where the other items were hotsync installed) using drive mode.
3) Used Explorer to move the Picsel Browser Core.pdb from the Launcher directory to RAM
Launching Picsel Browser results in the screen blanking, the drive light indicator turning amber then it just comes back to the application screen and never actually loads. When I go into Explorer and look at a few pdf's they are associated with Picsel Browser but when I try to open them I get the same results...blank screen, drive light, back to the program or screen that was up before I tried to open the document.

I'm not ENTIRELY sure, but isn't PicselAccelerator.prc designed specifically for the HHE engine based Clies?
That could be the problem...

We should really try to push
1 - palm to adopt picselviewer
2 - adobe to repace that bag of crap excuse for a pdf reader

I urge all of us to go to Adobe's site here (http://www.adobe.com/support/feature.html) and use the suggest feature thingie to suggest an updated acrobat reader.
Palm users unite, you have nothing to lose but that crappy converter thingie!
