guys please help with cam

Hi guys. I'm going crazy! I've had the nz90 for about 3 weeks now and I have 19 cycles on it. The problem is whenever I use the cam or the movie recorder, my battery level drops steadily at 1% per second.

Needless to say I can only snap off 3 or 4 pics before I am kicked out of the app. I have been able to record movies for up to 15 min but inconsistently so.

I've tried absolutely everything. From full drain to 50 percent drain then recharge. I have 19 cycles so my battery should be stable by now.

I know other people are having this same prob, then there's the lucky bunch of you that don't. Anybody have any advice! I love this thing, i use it for about 4 hours every day for everything. Thanks a lot.:confused:

PS otherwise my battery works fine. It does fluctuate a lot when I look at the reading but it consistenly runs for about 5-6 hours before I get a warning.

Hello

When I launch ClieCam, my battery lost 1% per second too. I thought my battery was dead, so I called the sony support. They said it was normal, the battery looses 35 % when ClieCam is launched. Then , when the program is closed, the battery retrieves its normal level !

So, don't worry ;)

The 3-4 pictures before you are dead is not right, I popped a bout 25 last night, 5 of those were flash pictures.

The reason the remaining battery indicator drops is that when ever you fire up your camera, the camera adds to the current draw, and it also charges your flash right away... I wish they would not automatically charge the flash as that is a big draw.

Hopefully they will come out with some kind of a software fix to optimize the battery usage. As you mentioned, do not charge the flash right away... would be a place to start.
