Anyone know where I can find a 1-gig pro duo for my PSP? I've browsed some other forums around here, but I'm not sure if I'm in the right place.

I need one desperately!

Unfortunately, Froogle.com points to a near-endless number of vendors who are either out of stock, or claim that the 1gig MS Pro Duo hasn't even been released yet <scratches head>.

Thanks for the effort, though - I guess I was just hoping someone around here might be on some sort of "inside track" as to what the heck is happening with the 1gig MS Pro Duo shortage the past 2 months.

Newegg.com notified me about 5 days ago, but by the time I was able to get in contact with them, they'd sold out. It's rediculously hard to find these things.

eBay seems to be the place to get stuff like that, assuming you don't mind the long lead time and potential risk.

I had an order from eXpansys for a 1GB SD, 512MB Duo and that Sandisk WiFi+256MB SD card.
Original estimated arrival time was 1/5/11 days. I waited for two weeks, and then it was 3/11/discontinued.

In the end I cancelled it and poked around on eBay for the guy I bought my 1GB MS from; hit Buy it Now on a few things, sorted out a combined shipment and should be with me by next week (That's the problem with ordering stuff on eBay - All the best prices are from overseas!)

mine was worse, Dell once ran Sony 1GB MS pro duo for 95$, I quickly ordered, even though it would take a couple of weeks. Then my PC craps out, and I'm forced to buy a new computer, meaning I had to cancel my order. DAMN. And then right after I found out PSP's with 1.0 firmware have been hacked. Ugh.

Is 1Gb really enough memory. I always found myself needing more. For instance, my 20Gb Ipod is filled to the max. I may have to get another player in order to keep my entire collection with me.

I thought I found something better. Sonystyle.com Link For 2 Gb MS Pro Duo (http://www.sonystyle.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/SY_DisplayProductInformation-Start?ProductSKU=MSXM2GN&Dept=cameras&CategoryName=acc_DIMemoryStickMedia_MemoryStickProDuomedia)
However, a shipping date isn't available apparently. Sony takes pre-orders.

Its astronomically priced.
Sony is just keeping up all this BS because they know you have no other choice for media on the unit...
I cant believe the murder sony is allowed to get away with... sigh...

If you really need one that badly, try circuit city. I don't even know what you can use it for. The psp's battery life is so low that you cant even listen to 1 gb of music on it. the only thing that I can think of is to hack the psp and then put a low quality movie on it. but its not worth the $129.99. Anyways heres the link:
