Can someone confirm the T5 cradle is compatible with the Lifedrive before I plunk money down on one?
I found one reference here but want to be sure.
Sure is, I'm using mine with no problems.

It is fully compatible from a standpoint of charging and HotSync, but the audio jack does not work at all well. Basically, it generates a very loud electronic buzz, particularly when the hard drive is running. The LifeDrive also is a bit wobbly in the cradle, which has caused a few occasions where the connection has been lost during a sync.
According to the PalmOne site, a cradle specifically designed for the LD is "coming soon", but the T5 cradle does work for now if you need something right away.

It work with my Lifedrive, I keep using it like I would with my old universal connector cradle pulling my Lifedrive out towards me instead of straight up.

Can we guess then that the JavoEdge T5 pullie thingie that charges and syncs a T5 would also work on the LD?

I have been reading your posts about a T5 charging cradle. Is this an option? I am waiting for my new T5 to arrive in the mail and am under the impression that I will get a charging cable and not a cradle with the unit. Need to have a cradle for work, so I can stand my T5 and use the datebook, etc. Any suggestions as to where I can locate a charging cradle for the T5? Unable to locate one on the PalmOne store site.
Thanks,

I ordered a LifeDrive cradle from Expansys but I got a T5 cradle instead. I called up Expansys and according to them, they were the same. I tried and it works, including the audio jack. A bit unhappy because of 2 reasons.
1. I need to remove LifeDrive from the hardcase before it can sit on the cradle.
2. The metal arch is in the way when one try to insert a stereo plug. The plug has to be really mini.

I have a friend that works at Cingular. They must throw out all accessories that are returned. I grabbed a Treo 650 Car adapter from the "garbage". It works fine on the Lifedrive.

I was also annoyed by that (I have a nice Piel Frama case). I managed to remove the translucid white cover that surrounds the actual connector (it's actually quite easy to pop it out). The cradle doesn't look as nice, but I can use it without removing my LifeDrive from the case.

This trick works for the PalmOne aluminum case as well but the cradle looks pretty bad with it's "guts" showing.
Now if I could just get this thing apart to turn off the "pretty lights".
P.S. I guess I could just put some electrical tape over the lights now that I have the translucent part taken off.
Thanks for that tip.

Anybody has tried the eXpansys palmOne LifeDrive USB Cradle? Can it be charged without removal from the case?

@TC Pun, I bought my one from Brando - it looks the same. It works well, but note that it is a sync + charger. I personally would have preferred a separate charger input.

Do you use the PalmOne hardcase? Do you need to remove the LifeDrive from the case to use the cradle?

@TC Pun, I sold-off my Palm hardcase. But the fit is very tight, I don't think you could use this cradle with the hardcase; you would have to remove the LD from any case. Anyone else tried this cradle who owns a hardcase?

T5 cradle is compatible. only problems i've noticed is that the green light when fully charged comes on even though the LD is not fully charged. multiple times have i seen the green light, pulled the LD off the cradle to use it, and find the battery not fully charged. also, the base support on the back is not fully flush with the cradle. when i poke my LD in the cradle, it rocks back and forth. i have to hold down the cradle to poke it without it moving. the light is always on. can't plug the headphones in while docked and the internal speakers do not work when it is plugged in. but it is still a great cradle. despite its flaws, i'm going to order another one to keep in my office. and for $30 from buy.com, you just can't beat it.

@jcasmd - yes. The Brando is okay for the price. The cable is both for charge & sync, which I don't like.
