Hi,
Here's a video that I took today of my brother's dog.
1.5 mb
http://www.cmrvs.com/MOV00004.MQV
This file has to be installed on ms in MQ_ROOT/100MQV01 folder
The quality is starting to get a little better.

The quality isn't like the PC, but what can you expect.

On the CD that comes with the NZ, there is an app called Image Converter that will convert movies over to the Clie that are playable with the built-in Movies Player app. And it's free too!

While this is 'true' that the Image converter will convert movie formats to the clie player format .... well .... that is fine and dandy, however if one reads many other posts out here, it has been discovered that oftentimes using this utility does not necessarily mean it will compact down the files well. I remember at the end of last week looking at a post in here where they took a 50mb television show and it converted it fine to the CLIE format, but it ended up being 61mb for the CLIE file format. Seems like there should be some kind of better conversion/compression program/utilities out there which can significantly reduce the size of the movies rather than potentially increasing the size of them.

It all depends on the conmpression. But the Image Converter should always have smaller video sizes at the same quality as Kinoma. Thats because the Image Converter encodes videos in MPEG-4 elementary format while Kinoma encodes videos in Cinepak Mobile format, which is older and doesn't compress as well. TV episodes that are in Divx format will probably increase in size a little bit due to the fact that Divx offers somewhat better file sizes than MPEG-4 and at the same resolution. But Kinoma will either have an even larger file size, or it will degrade the quality.

Thanks for showing us the recording capability of the NZ, I was always curious. I wish my NX looked like that.
