I just sold my Palm TT and will be moving into a CLIE NX60. But before I do this I wanted to find out from the Clie user community what precautions I should take before I make the move?
1) What is the safest way to move the data since Sony Palm Desktop appears to be different than Palm's desktop.
2) What problems will I have with syncing after I am done.
3) What problems are other users having with NX/NR and the rotating screen and OS5.x apps?
Thanks again.

The Palm Desktop and Palm Desktop for Clié are 100% identical, it's only that Sony uses an outdated version (4.01 instead of 4.1)

Desktop 4.01 didn't have support (from Palm) for voice recording while desktop 4.1 does. Is Sony using a different method or just modifying the desktop 4.01?
My office has desktop 4.01 installed and wouldn't put 4.1 out due to testing issues on their end (they wouldn't test it). So it may be encouraging to try out the Sony on with a serial cable on the old desktop at work.
Thanks. Any other issues I shoul consider. I know Jackflash is for OS5 is supposed to be out by eom, and that will help me removed some apps that I don't/won't use to free us some of teh 5MB Sony used up.
Initial testing at the store has been encouraging. New ones with OS5.1 due out in a few weeks so I will wait.

For the record, I had no problems syncing data on either machines. I have a TT and an NX and both are synced flawlessly... infact, the BT applications were put onto my NX when I used the same profile name.

They're both on the same OS5 operating system. You can install Palm Desktop v4.1 after you install the Sony Palm Desktop. The USB drivers are different I believe. The location of the folders on your hard drive are different also.
Uninstall the TT Desktop and Install the NX Desktop, then copy the files over from the Palm HotSync named folder to the Clie HotSync named folder. The folder HotSync name is truncated to eight characters Uninstalling the original Palm Desktop does not erase your data. Uninstalling and re-installing the Sony Desktop to v4.1 will be fine too.

Thanks for everyone's help. I have found this site to be the most helpful for Clie information. Has anyone found any problems with the rotating screens on the NR/NX series. I saw a post about some who did some repair work to tighthen theirs instead of a few weeks at Sony?
Are there any major issues with the screen? Thanks again.

Tbellas,
What do you love most about your TT. I have to admit the small form factor and D-Pad are nice, but I really want a larger brighter screen with more multimedia support. Of course the ability to remove the extra Sony apps I don't want will be nice so I can reclaim the space.
