Just got my 1gig MSPRO stick and aside from movies that would be considered "National Geographic " I need to get Empire Strikes Back on this bad boy. I have a high quality Divx version but I am unable to just use the Image converter app. I downloaded the Honestech MPEG Encoder and tried to convert the movie but i think i did it wrong since it does not work. Does anybody know what settings i need to use in Honestech? I tried mpeg2 but had no luck
PLEASE HELP!
Ah, yes, a man (or woman? register already!) after my own heart. I have hundreds of little Star Wars clips for the Sony Movie Player and Kinoma. Email me at joetunon@bellsouth.net for details or just to talk Star Wars!

@ Importluva:

The 1 gig stick is really the sh#t! Finally after all these years of waiting the Palm can do things that the PocketPC can do, only better! I bought mine from sonystyle.com and paid $639. They say its backordered but it ended up shipping within 3 days after I ordered it. I also bought a 512mb card from bhphoto which was $240.
The sticks are faster than the old 128mb cards! Clieviewer thumbnails come up lightning fast compared to the old sticks. I can only imagine how much better they will perform when the mythical patch is released. Also note that you need to pick up a Memory Stick Pro reader if you want to access the card directly. I ordered the sony mempro reader from bhphoto and am waiting for it to arrive to see how much easier it will be when it is on a usb2 stream.

I just ordered my 128MB MS for $30. Should I cancel it? They already shipped it...

gee $30 bucks is a good price. I have a few 128mb cards lying around but i really don't think I will ever use them again. They may make good shiv pieces if I ever need to level my desk :) Just refuse the shipment and cancel the order. Get the MSPRO! It really makes all the difference in the world!

Out of curiousity did you have enough battery life to watch the entire movie?
On another note...What would be really cool is to be able to stream a movie wireleslly. Bluetooth might be able to handle it but bandwidth is only ~700K Kbits/sec...What I would really like to see is a 802.11g memory stick and also Palm OS drivers that would be able to read from an NFS or CIFS share that has a movie on it. Better yet if some could write ISCI drivers for Palm OS people would have UNLIMITED block level access storage. I'm a storage consultant and I've already perfected block level storage via ISCSI over 802.11b with WinXP. The next logical step would be bring this functionality with handhelds. It probably could be done with PocketPC since it may natively support communicating to a CIFS share since it's a Microsoft Product.
Anyways I'm blabbing time to sleep.....

Amazon and many other places are selling Lexar 128mb memory sticks for around 30-40 dollars after rebate or instant rebate. Check around and do some price digging and you'll find a good price. I recently purchased a Sony 128mb memory stick from Amazon.com for about 40-50 dollars, I forgot. Paying for half the price as opposed to PRO series sticks, I guess I can live the couple seconds of lag time when waiting for photos to show up or loading of movies. Watching little clips is quite smooth though.
