TCPMP (tcpmp.corecodec.org) can play the largest amount of files, and for the UX, will be the fastest.
Docs To Go (dataviz.com) and Quickoffice (quickoffice.com) are two programs that can fulfill the purpose of MSOffice, though there are a couple others.
As of now, you cant have two programs open at the same time, though DAs let you open small apps on top of other programs.
The best version of AIM just might be, AIM for Palm. You can download it for free off of the UK AOL site. There are a couple commercial IM apps that provide more flexibility and work with more services.
Sony devices are the only Palm OS handhelds with Flash installed. There are no updates, but you can be grateful that you have it.
Rescoviewer (http://www.resco.net/palm/photoviewer/default.asp) or Acidimage (http://www.acid-image.com/acidimage.html) may be what you are looking for in the order of photo viewing.

The flash player can play older flash games and movies, and there is a company that actually made flash games that run on this player.

also, I went to the AIM UK site and it wont let me download it. Go to google type in "UK AOL PALM" and the version of aim pops up. When you click to download it, some weird text pops up and thats it.

Right click and have it save the file. Some older downloads try to open it as text, and do the thing you see there. That should do it.

dont get AIM for palm. it is a pain to use because after you send a message it doesnt erase the text you typed in. so every time you have to type message in, send it, then manually erase the text you tyed in. I dont know if they have fixed this or not, i dont think they did. I would recommend looking at verichat. even though its not free, its a much better program

I use Docs To Go for MS Office files and it works a treat since they added support for the UX screen. I use it all the time.
For MP3s, stick with Audioplayer if you can, it isn't the best but because it uses the audio chipset in the UX the reduced battery usage is excellent and you can play MP3s for hours and hours.
Definetly the most important application of all is Warfare ;-) I am totally addicted.

Buy a UX40/50, then buy:
Docs to Go Premium V7.02 - Just like full versions of Word/Excel
AppShelf - Customizable desktop
Bhaji Loops - Music production studio/sequencer/sampler
FullMoviePlayer - As title
AlbumSwap - Does what Sony missed out of AudioPlayer: ability to create MP3 albums
I'm such a happy bunny with the above.
Everyone else at work has iPaqs, etc...but my UX50 s**ts on them all !!!!!
2 years on, and there still isn't a PDA as good as the UX. Woohooo!

I like to hear someone sound so excited about the UX50.
I'd like to know, just how you think it outstands or "s**ts on" the iPaqs.
Please let us know UX50-BEN
I love my UX50, but sometimes i feel the only unigue thing
is the clamshell design (which i love)
I want to find more programs/apps to make it shine. :D
Any ideas Guys/Girls?
I will try the apps you listed UX50-BEN
Anyone else feels that the UX50 is the best?
If so lets start telling why.
Maybe we need a new thread for it (if it's not one already)
BTW
I just got the charging cradle case from GadgetInfinity.Com
It came all the way from Hong Kong in 6 days with $3.50 Shipping, great!
It is pretty thin, iyou can't tell by looking that it has a charging cradle built in. Love It :)

I sort of meant all other PDAs really, especially Pocket PC 2003 ones.
I'm exagerating a bit though. I just remember everyone at work saying 'don't buy Palm, stick with Windows etc..'. It's a bit like the MAC vs. Windows war isn't it.
But when I got the UX50, and everyone saw it, they changed their view considerably.
You're correct though, the main advantage is the clamshell and keyboard.
I just cannot get used to relying on onscreen virtual keyboards/graffiti etc.
I only bought my UX50 2 weeks ago (£140 off eBay UK - inc hard case & 256MB MagicGate card) and apart from the screen whine, the battery is excellent, and Wifi/Bluetooth work flawlessly, and I'm very happy with it.
I could have afforded any PDA, even waited for the LifeDrive. I'd been looking at the iPaq 4700. But the UX50 just seems to offer a much better overall device.
I probably wouldn't have spent £500 on one. But I like the Palm OS, and PalmOne don't seem to have bettered the UX50 yet, so I really feel I've bought the best Palm system to date. In fact, I'd rather have this with a huge memory stick, than buy a Lifedrive.
