I just put my 1gb memory stick pro into the slot on my th55, and now it won't come out.

When I put on it, it does not pop back out. It is not in backwards or anything, and it is still readable, but it won't come out.

Any advice?

What happens when you push it in? It should click then pop back out.

If the mechanism's messed up, you may have to try pulling it out with some tweezers or something, but this is risky...

How about putting some vaselin on MS from now on?

(If you pulling out, do it carefully and slowly.

It will go in as far as it always does, but there is no click and it does not extend beyond the at rest position

It sounds like the MS slot is too narrow or MS is too big. It happened to me when I insert a MSDuo with adapter. Luckily it has still a little edge for my finger nails to grab on and pull it out.

You may need to open the case to have a better access to it. The metal MS slot inside the case is only half as deep as the MS.

i suggest using tweezers and VERY GENTLY pull out the MS.
if your MS doesn't come out with more than 5 lbs of tension, then i'd head over to your nearest electronics store and ask for help. those people have all the right tools for stuff like this.

this maybe adu mb question but did u happen to put an ms pro duo inside? anyways, try using another ms stick and push it. or u can send it back to sony if it is still under waranty

If it is MSDuo, I would remove the MSDuo off the adapter first, then it should releave the pressure off the adapter and the MS slot. At least that works for me.

i don't think that would really make much of a difference, at least IMO. because the MS Duo itself should fit perfectly into the adaptor and not cause it to expand....

but hey, since you own one (and obviously i DON'T), you know what you're doing!

Some memorysticks just arent made right. I have a 256 and a 1gb. Neither stick in my TH, but the 1gb sticks in my TG-50.

Apparently there is a slight manufacturing tolerance problem with these MSDuo adapters. I have 2 MSDuo adapters. One of them has the exact size of the regular MS, no problem using it. The other is a little bit too big and got stuck inside the TH55 MS slot. Luckily I got it out per the method I mentioned earlier.

This was not with a duo, but with a full sized memory stick. I had been using it for a few weeks before this happened. I'm very frusterated!

Get some tweezers or really thin needle-nose pliers (Or maybe a surgical clamp) and gently pull it out...
