Found the PDA of my dreams right here (http://www.43folders.com/2004/09/introducing_the.html). It's called the Hipster PDA. Get yours while they last!
(I did a search of this site and was amazed to find no other mention of it. Perhaps for once in my life, I beat everyone else to the punch here? Hmm.)
Welcome to 1src jonimueller, thanks for bringing this over at 1src. I've been using the hipster PDA for quite a while now. In fact, 43folders got me to buy a Moleskine notebook.
What I like about the hipster PDA:
1. virtually indestructible in my pants back pocket
2. recognizes handwritten input 100% of the time
3. not bulky
4. no need to charge
5. perfect backup for my Treo 650
6. thieves won't bother to steal it. ever.
What I don't like:
1. no way to sync and backup (well technically there is a way)
Other than that, it's very useful. I have two. :D
Oh, here's the more expensive version (http://www.computergear.com/paperpalm3.html).

I tried it, but it is very inconsistant.... handwriting recognition is directly related to amount of sleep I get the prior day (though to its credit, my TH55 has similar problems, it complains a lot, but I don't have to figure out what I wrote a day later). ;) Nothing is indestructable for me.... But I think in a hip cushioned case similar to my TH55 it would do fine. Theives would steal mine (notes disappear from my office... I think someone wants my ideas), and paper always disappears into a black hole somewhere in my office and come back out as scrap with nothing intelligent written on it....
:) very good for the price though!
Hey! There's a new one... the Cardster PDA (http://gadgetize.blogspot.com/2005/06/cardster-pda.html). :)
