Well I guess now that the new flag ship of palm for 2005 is out. I am on the path on replacing my palm. I have become attached to checking mail and internet browsing via my trusty wifi sd card. Now the question is: Is it worth getting the lifedrive now (since I like the specs) or should I wait (b/c there is one just like it with wifi) coming down the pipeline and maybe it has os6 ;-) ? I am not in any desperate need for one right now...but I think my T3 is going to die soon. Tell me your thoughts. Thanks

P.S: If you think there is one coming in the pipelines, how long are we talking about? (9months? 2007? Never?)

Well, I'm beginning to doubt you'll see an OS6 device (at least in the current cobalt sense) any time soon (within a year). I don't know for sure, but with PalmSource supposedly devising a way to put a Palm shell on Linux (which will supposedly allow for easier driver creation as well as other things), I'm guessing that's the direction PalmOne is probably taking. If your T3 is working just fine for you, then you might want to wait. If you can take advantage of the 4GB of disk space, then maybe take a plunge at the next rebate/discount cycle (or sooner if the T3 up and dies). I don't think you'll see the incompatibility issues that happened when the T5 came out. The NVFS has probably been further optimized, and developers have had some time to update their programs to take the NVFS into account. Anyway, no sense in rushing into the LifeDrive if you don't have an overwhelming need/desire for it. Let the early adopters put it through its paces and find any inconsistencies that it might have.
