Sony has released a little tool for uploading images (you took with your clié) directly to SonyStyle Imaging.

You can get that tool (in english, french and german) at their support website http://www.clie-link.com.

Obviously you need an online connection (wlan/bluetooth) to use the tool as well as an account with SonyStlye Imaging.

It is an amazing device once you get it setup. Needing an account is free, and I really like the new option in the viewimage app.

Okay I can email images to the upload email it assigns fine from my desktop. When I email to the address it creates from the clie it never gets there. I CC my regular address and I own my own smtp server so I know it's getting there and going out. Anyone else been able to send it from the clie?

works perfect. I got it working, and then just to make sure, I went via netbrowser, and hooked up to the sony style web site. Now I have it working for sure, and it was all setup automaticall.
Just a couple of pushes of buttons on the web page.

How do you "set" the upload address?

When I clicked "OK" to continue setting the upload address, Netfront closes and goes to
ImageUploadUtilite, but still at the "Set up Upload Address" page.

I also tried copying the address manually,
but still no go.

I have a similar problem. When I clicked "set" the upload address, it first prompted me "open" or "save". If I clicked save, it will go back to the upload util but as UI018397 mentioned, it still in the set up upload address page. I also tried to enter the address myself, but it didn't save.

How do you guys get it to work?

Thanks in advance.
Ray

I didn't read the manual !!

Apparently, after the upload utility's been installed, a button will appear in ClieViewer and ClieCamera (only in NX70/V according to the manual) that let you upload your selected image.

Uploading is actually done using ClieMail.

Right. Actually any maill with attatched pictures of reasonable size get sent to your box. the address is set even if it doesn't show up in the utility. Once it is set, send a test image, and if it works, it will upload it to your directory. You will recieve confermation of the send in clie mail. or to where ever you sent it from. It really is quite cool. Doesn't work with movies, and it can't handle THAT many images at a time. Remember your upload limit to your email addresses. Only send what your server can handle, usually under 1.5 MB, some systems go as high as 10MB's but no more.

Has no one any interest in trying to get this to send to there own choice of server. Because I see a potentional that could look some thing like a web cam.

Like others said all it is really doing is emailing the pictures to an address. You can use it with imagestation or sonystyle-imaging. If you have your own smtp and web server you very well could set it up to receive the email and post the image. I'd just as soon send it to imagestation and give people a link to that album or link on my page to the album.

Isn't this tool for European users only? Sony Style Imaging is a European site and signup asks what country you are in. Are people lying about where they are from? (how would they know right?) How do you use this with Imagestation?

I use it with sonystyle-imaging and with imagestation. The upload address is different with imagestatin. Also the subject is different. You send the email to upload@upload.imagestation.com
The subject contains your member id and album id. If you log in to imagestation and go to upload, pick other upload methods, then click email you'll get format you need. I'm succesfully using both now. Even got it to still upload to the sync through a hotsync of clie mail.

I'm in US and just left country blank - it filled in UK and gave me an account. That said, ftp'ing (with vfsftp) to my own server is better.
