...the type that ERASES the HD...
Ok, so one big problem of the LD is that hard reset which crashes the 4G HD. That wouldnt happen too often i hope.
So all curious palm afficionados who are lookin to buy the LD can monitor just how often that will occur, please post here...
Again post only if you have had to reset and erase the whole HD...
thanks for the help. :)

I had to do a hard reset in order to erase graffiti 1 libs when I discovered that they were causing a page fault in Blazer.
I knew I was going to have to do it, so I took 2 minutes to back up the contents of my drive using LifeDrive Manager, and it wasn't this great crisis it's being made out to be.

timepilot, how much do you have stored on your drive? Mine took almost 30 minutes to backup only 2GB.

Had about 1G of videos, MP3's and docs. I just used the LifeDrive Manager to copy and paste the stuff to a folder on my desktop. Are you using USB 2.0?
It started off saying it'd take 8 minutes, then quickly dropped to 4, but it didn't even take that long. Maybe 2 minutes was being generous.

I'm in the middle of a hard reset now. I chose to do it, though. My first setup was as an "upgrade" from my T2, and I decided I'd rather start over clean.

Hard resets while upgrading from device to device seems to be a standard procedure for me. Took about four hard resets with the LD right out of the box to weed out whatever unfriendly app[s] from my former Z72 was causing problems. Finally renamed BACKUP folder and installed apps a few at a time.
Frank -- Good grief. I'm repeating myself from LDCentral

I'm pretty sure I have USB 2.0. I even looked it up to see how to check, and yes, I do.
On my old computer, when I would plug a USB 2.0 device into my USB 1.1 ports, I would get a message saying "This device will perform better if you connect it to a Hi-Speed USB port". I don't get that anymore on my new PC. Yet still, my USB speeds seem to crawl.

Well, I was lying too. I took a closer look at what I had in the backup directory and there was only about 300 megs of stuff in there. I forgot that I didn't back up the vids (there was no point, they're already in one spot on my computer), so I only backed up the documents and the audio folders.
I only double-checked after it took 10 minutes to copy 1.5 Gigs of Thundarr the Barbarian vids onto the drive. It still didn't take me 1/2 hour, but it was significantly slower than before. This was writing, though, and the other time was reading.
