High quality leather LifeDrive cases are now available from Vaja and Piel Frama for about $75. [details (http://www.1src.com/?m=show&id=1067)]

Maybe it's just me but these cases seem ugly to me. Besides, I LOVE the look of the LD, I don't want to hide it in a case. I also have a Treo 650 which I like the look of a refuse to hide in a case. I've never had any trouble or had any damage done to it by just carrying it without a case. The slip case for the LD will work just great for me. JMO

I like the minimalist cases that the T5 and the E series have. The only reason I use a case is to keep pocket stuff from scratching up the screen. The slipcase that came with the LD is nice and protective but big.

I prefer these type of cases myself. They keep the devise in good protection, and it is easily clipped to my belt.

I usually keep it in my laptop case anyway.

I don't particular care for the look of the cases either, though I like the golden brown color one.

One thing that might cause alarm, though. The picture looks like the cover has a snap-on buckle. But the description says it's a "magnetic snap closure".
Now, either the LifeDrive's case has some kind of super lead shielding, or am I the only one that thinks having any kind of magnet, however weak it might be, near an electronic device is a potential disaster waiting to happen?!

I have owned 3 different Piel Frama cases, and all of them have magnets instead of a snap closures. The picture looks misleading. You can't see the magnets. It's all under the leather. Personally, I prefer the feel the magnetic gives while opening and closing the case. It automaticallly attaches itself. Much better than wearing out or fumbling with a snap.

My Tungsten T3, Treo 600 and now my 650 all work fine with heavy use inside their Piel Frama cases. The magnets don't hurt anything.

i don't like vaja or piel because of that nasty flap that sticks out AND the fact that you can't sync in case in cradle.

that's why i prefer www.senacases.com

high quality yet more reasonably priced.

they'll probably soon offer one for the LD.

that slip case that comes with the LD is not acceptable.

I ordered one of these cases from Piel Frama yestaday, for my lifedrive which is on order http://www.pielframa.com/palmone_lifedrive.htm
I've ordered the black/tan one ... All of there cases look really high quality ...

I did also like the vaja cases but they were more expensive, and shipping to the UK would be another expense ...

Piel Frama also offers a LD case.

I emailed Senacases, and they said that they would have a case available in approximately 4 weeks.

I just picked up the palmOne leather case for the LD and for $39.99 it is great - not as nice as Vaja, but the nicest leather case that palmOne has ever sold.

Vaja cases are pretty solid

I also ordered the Palm leather case from pa1m0ne when I ordered my LifeDrive. Its much nicer than I anticipated it being. Wish the 2nd SD holder wasn't quite as tall, makes it a little more difficult to remove the card, but that might turn out to be a good thing. Time will tell.

PDAir have developed two cases for the LD - have ordered the "book" style one. Will report my thoughts when I receive one.

Hi All

I just thought I would report back here. I have today received my Piel Frama case ... I ordered the Tan/Black Case for my LifeDrive - http://www.pielframa.com/palmone_lifedrive.htm
They were very helpful ... I told them I was going on holiday at the end of this week, and they made sure they got it to me in time.
The case itself was very well packaged and came in a very nice box. As soon as I opened the box you could smell the leather, which imediately tells me this is quality.
The case fits my LifeDrive like a gloove, its a tight fit. All of the button holes line up perfectly, and there is even a tiny indent in the top so the flashing green/orange light can be seen. Most importantly the case looks good too, lots of positive comments from people. And it also comes with a belt clip which it clips into.
If your looking for a quality leather case I highly recomend these. I also looked at vaja cases which I would of liked but there was a long waiting time, it was more expensive, and more costly shipping as I live in the UK.

I've always like the Bellagio Designs line of flip cases. IMO, they were the best cases available for the Clie NX80. I'll have to wait and see if they make a case for the LifeDrive. Quite frankly, I don't like the looks of either the Vaja or Piel Frama cases.

Of course, if Vaja puts out a Dyna model out for the LD, I might change my mind and hop on board....

I bought the Piel Frama case for the LifeDrive and it definitely uses a snap for the enclosure rather than a magnet. I suspect that this design was chosen because a magnet and a hard drive typically do not mix very well...

I'll be interested in a landscape oriented case. There's a junky alumanum case available that flipes over the side instead of the top of the case, but I don't want an alumanum case.

I had a Bellagio case for my Tungsten C and thought it was great (although I found that getting the monogram on it was a waste of money because it wasn't visible). I've just ordered a Bellagio case for my Lifedrive; apparently they've just designed it so it won't be shipping until July 22.

The reason I liked the last one:
1. Genuine leather
2. Fliptop reminiscent of the Palm III
3. Belt clip that is easy to detach yet holds it in place well

I'll let you guys know what I think of the Lifedrive one when it comes!
