PEG UX50 problems

When I remove my ux50 from the cradle the unit instantly goes off. I recently purchased a replacement battery and according to the display it is fully charged, however, again when I remove it from the cradle the unit goes off and will not come on except in the cradle. Any suggestions before I send it to Sony?

Have you tried putting the old battery back in to see if the new one you have is duff?

No I have not. One thing I did notice when I placed the new battery in was the lighting bolt. The lighting bolt was and is on the old battery as well. So my guess is that the original problem was not the battery but something else??? Anyone else had this problem??? Thanks
