I have had a T3 since they first came out and use it mostly for the calendar and contacts, but I play lots of games on it too. I also have an ipod. Well, being that I love new gadgets, I went out and bought a LD. I am not sure if I am going to keep it. So...I have 2 questions-

I was not crazy about the battery life of my T3, can't play for more than 2 hours of games without having to recharge. The HD issue with the LD scared me a bit, and I still have not taken it out of my house because at the CompUSA where I bought it they had no cases for it. Should I keep my LD, or just upgrade my T3 to a T5 (cheaper, and I believe from reading posts has a better battery life than my T3)

If I decide to return the LD, should I do a hard reset first to wipe out my data?

I know this is all just personal preference, but I just wanted a few other opinions.

Not wiping out your data is kinda dopey. It's a surprising question.

I know I need to wipe out my data, the question was "should I use a hard reset to do it" or, should I just delete the data! (I have never done a hard reset before)

Hard Reset will be faster, and more ensuring that you'll clean it. That does not, however, remove your responsibility to VERIFY that said data is deleted. Reason I say this: LifeDrive has a new system for managing files, ie: Lose power, you don't lose data. As a result, I'm not entirely SURE that doing a Hard Reset will necessarily clear out your personal data.

But again. You can try it. If it works, ... great. If not, ... get ready to plunker down and get to work. :-)

Good luck.

The LD has an option to really erase the hard drive when you request a hard reset. The book calls it secure erase. I guess it does an overwrite of the data sectors.
