There is an answer to a question about privacy that explains how to turn off the display of one's email. Not sure why they display it by default, but you can turn off that feature. I was just on lifedriveforum.com they don't display your email.

There's a message now in the LifeDriveCentral.com forums that the display of email addresses is being turned off, unless you opt to have your's displayed. It also looks like they've added avatar & smiley functions and let you discuss news or review articles directly below the items.
