View Full Version : Keeping my LD? Still not sure.

Well after having the LD for 2 days now I must say that I am still on the fence on if I'm going to keep it to replace my T/5 or not. It is growing on me, but when I go back and use the T/5 I love how fast it is compared to the LD. The LD isn't slow, it's just a minor delay when loading programs. The T/5 is a great device for sure and I don't know if I can justify spending the $$ on the LD and end up going back to the T/5 at times. I think that if I didn't have the T/5 I would love the LD for sure. We'll see how I feel after a few more days.

You could stick with the T|5 and buy a big-*** SD card. Best of both worlds ;)

I do have a 1G card with it, I was hoping that I wouldn't be buying another pda for a while, I just couldn't help myself!

I have a T5 and a 1GB SD card, and I'm still seriously considering a LifeDrive. It's a lot smaller than I expected, the lag is *minimal*, and the storage space is glorious.
I'm not sure about battery life. That will be the kicker. My T5 has awesome battery life. My T3 sucked for battery life, and it's the single biggest reason I don't understand the fervent T3 fans. How can any self-professed "power user" accept that short a charge life?
here is a charger for when you want more battery life... works with t|5 and therefore fits Lifedrive which uses the same power connector. Just throw 4 2000 mah nimh batteries in and you have 2000mah of backup. btw, for those without any electronics background: battery amp hours only add in parallel. 4 2000 mah batteries in series gives you higher voltage but still only 2000 mah.
battery backup for t|5, Lifedrive (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48663&item=5776240818&rd=1)
i am a t|3 user and i am hoping the battery life of Lifedrive is better than t|3 or at least not any worse. I can life with the t|3 battery life. i have several cradles around. if the lifedrive battery is better, i don't need cradles in as many places.
i have only ever run out of juice ONCE since getting my t|3, but i use it mostly for business.
of course you can find chargers for t|3 on ebay, but this is a lifedrive forum ;).

I'm new to these forums, only been viewing brighthand.
Why would you need to go back to t|5 for anything? You mention keeping both around, but why?

As someone who's used a T3, and a T5 and now an LD, I think the battery life of the LD 'feels' about the same as the T3. It's hard to compare the two, though, because I use the Wi-Fi so much in the LD.
For the record, I was not happy with the battery life of the T3 (but it was way better than the SL-6000L, I might add).

I have noticed that the battery life of my LD is longer than that of my T3, but not greatly so. It lasts better through WiFi, and after watching 22 min of video on TCPMP, the battery level only went down to 95%. This is not phenomenal, but better than my old T3, which was abysmal. WiFi, which is an occasional necessity, does reduce the battery life considerably, but not nearly as badly as the PalmOne WiFi card did to the T3.

stick with it, its a decent device but its just not right for me because it lacks the camera.
