I use the Appshelf launcher which allows me to set a background image. Other launchers do to, I just prefer Appshelf.

You need to install a launcher program. I recommend Zlauncher as it gives you a bunch of manipulations. Other launchers include: AppShelf, Xlauncher, TealLauncher, Mega Launcher, and a bunch of others. Look around...

You can download and try out Appshelf. It is shareware and times out after 30 days I think. Try Zlauncher too, from looking at these forums they seem to be the most popular launchers out there.

FileZ is file management progam, not a launcher.

Zlauncher also has a built in file manager similar to Filez. I've ued both on the same machine. Appshelf and Zlauncher are the best launchers. I started out with Zlauncher and have stayed with it because I got used to it, but Appshelf looks good too. Both let you put background images in the launcher. Zlauncer lets you assign a different background image to each ctaegory if you want, though this does increase memory usage. Not sure if Appshelf can do that or not. For what you get Zlauncher is very inexspensive.

Appshelf looks nice, but that is about it. Zlauncher is one of the most customizable software for the PalmOS. You can simply do anything you want with it.

I used to use ZLauncher till it started to take 2MB from my RAM. I use Hi-Launcher and Palm Launcher although I do miss ZLauncher and backgrounds.

I'd go with AppShelf its simple clean and does a great job of launching your apps and you can customise your wallpaper. My webpage has more details.

You can find it here http://www.jade.dti.ne.jp/~imazeki/palm/APsh/index-e.html

O,ok. I was told that I would need ZLauncher for something, but I never ended up using it. Thanks.

I' using Hi-Launcher with AppShelf for now. I like how small AppShelf is. BTW, how do you put pics in that side panel.

You have to register then go to your Profile and find "Edit Avatar". I think from memory you can choose a default pic (Avatar) then after so many posts you can load your own. It can be a animated gif if you want.

Oh I see, silly billy I am.

You need a DA called AppShelf Clipper (on the developers site or mine). You go into the module menu and drag "Clip" into your side menu then open a picture you like launch the DA and there you go. After you have the clip on your UX's window you can click it and it opens full screen.
