Apparently some people can't stand it. I not only can stand it, I don't even remember it's there.

It was a deal breaker for me. I was down to buying the NX60 or TG50. The screen did me in. The wavy lines are horrible. I really can't stand them. The unit itself is awesome though. The size and form factor are awesome!

I really don't think that it is a big deal. However, many peeps do. It all boils down to what you think when you first see it. Does it suck? Is it coo?

i think the wavy line is a trade of for the extra bright screen...at least for today's technology

I think the wavy lines are due to sony introducing this model too quickly. PPCs such as the hp1910 have beautiful screens with no wavy lines whatsoever. The wavy lines on the TG50 seem far far worse and more pronounced than on my NR70v and T615c.
However, after about 1 day of use, I NEVER notice the lines anymore much. My yishow xp skin covers up the wavy lines nicely.

Like my initial reaction to the keyboard: Eechh. But bought it, relying heavily on the 2 week return period, as backlit keys are extremely helpful for productivity purposes. Now, after serious daily use (hours per), no way no how would I let anyone pry the thing outta my hands. It's like a dear friend who has a few flaws that could drive you up the wall: the overall package is so positive and enriches to such a degree, that the flaws are virtually forgotten- til you go looking for them. Waves still there? Yeppie. Do I notice 'em anymore? Nope. Keyboard? Still ain't a Treo or Blackberry, but the PROs far outweigh the CONs.

I think the keyboard on mine will break soon, as some of the keys "sink" into the unit.
And just as Treo Renegade said, you forget little flaws as you use it. I always forget about the waves, but I never forget about the keyboard sinking unfortunately.
Treorenegade, well put! I'm going on a week now and at this point the keyboard is darn comfortable! As for the wavy lines - it's such a joke at this point that I would suggest to anyone as stated elsewhere to use the darn thing for at least a week. If you still care about the wavy lines, you'll be the exception to the rule, but by all means return it (after all, it's up to you, not up to opinions like mine). However, if you don't give yourself a week at least, you won't know what you're missing! I'm still blown away at the incredible brightness and color richness of this screen. I was showing off the NX60 to someone and it actually seemed a bit dull! And we're talking about the NX60, a nice bright, colorful screen! But I've been spoiled by this new beauty.
Okay, I'm done ranting. Good post, Treorenegade!
