Hi gang,

I'm trying to use Iambic Mail to send an attachment of a JPEG
I took with my Clie. I can see the directory, but cannot locate the JPEG. I can view it in Splash Photo or Clie Viewer, but cannot see the file in Iambic mail. Any ideas?

You can't send a jpeg with iambic mail. You can't send any file attachement really with the exception of if you received an email with an attachment. You'll need your ClieMail to do what you're trying to do. I dumped Iambic for cliemail for that exact reason. I spoke with their developers and they told me they're working on a version that will allow attachments from vfs. I told them when that happens that's probably when I'll use my iambic mail again.

I don't know what crack you've been smokin NXTacy, but i can attach my jpegs fine from my MS using iambic.

DougW, here's how.
Tap "New" from the lower left hand corner. Fill out the address and message and what not then tap the paperclip icon in the lower right hand corner. It should have a drop down menu that displays "iMAttach" and then "(none)" in the dialogue box. Tap the drop down menu and tap the two dots (".."). This brings up your programs menu. Tap the drop down menu again and tap the dots again, this brings up the palm menu. Do it again, this brings up the root directory. Tap the drop down menu again, but this time tap "DCIM". "(none)" will still be displayed in the dialogue box. Then tap the drop down menu again and tap "101MSDCF". That's where all your pictures are stored. Make sure you know the name of the picture before you attach it, since you can't preview it (use an image viewer to do that). Select the image that you want, tap ok and tap send and next time you hotsync or dial wirelessly it'll send out.

This is of course all assuming your using a Memory Stick. And if your not then you should get one to use : ).

Hope it helps!

Thanks for your reply. Here's something that I found verrrrryyyy
interesting:

I have a library of photos stored on my card using Splash photo.
These jpegs were stored on my computer and I used Splash Photo to install them on MS. I just tried using a random JPEG
in Splash Photo as an attachment. It took the attachment just fine. I was able to use Iambic Mail (ver 3.07) to send an email to
my other account and it went through with no problem. I was able to open it on my computer at work. It seems that the jpegs
that I took with the Sony Clie won't show in my listing through Iambic Mail. I tried looking through all directories on the MS using
IM Mail, but for some reason, it won't show. If I use SP or CV,
I can see the jpeg. Did you try sending attachments in this manner?

Curious

Hmmm, no, all my jpegs are in the DCIM folder where they are naturally taken too. I'm not a big fan of splash, i prefer AcidImage anyway. Maybe if you just try to transfer them using Import and transfer them to the DCIM folder it'll work better for you, but then again, it shouldn't really matter where on the MS it's stored, as long as you can see it from iambic. Sorry, i dunno.

It works!! Thanks to both of you, I found out that I wasn't going up far enough to get to the right directory...it works like a champ.
Thanks again guys for your help.

NXTracy, maybe this will solve your problem as well! Thanks for your input.
