Hi all you LifeDrivers,
Does anybody have any apps they can share with other Palm OS uses.
Much appreciated

Anything that can be shared, you can find and DL on your own. If you're asking for warez, you're in the wrong place.

Only thing I want to know is if the LD has a working FAT32 driver that also works on other PDAs!

NO I'm NOT asking for warez.
I was asking for people to look at the "Standard" apps that come bundled with the LifeDrive's Palm 5.4 OS.
An example would be "NetFront", (I know the LifeDrive comes with Blazer)
Is that OK?

and any updated apps we garnet users have. Like calendar, tasks, web. We all know that us 650 and t5 owners have blazer 4.0, and lferdive has 4.1.

Hello everyone! It would be nice if some LifeDrive or TE2 user would post ROM software like Blazer (although it doesnt work), Calendar, Camera Companion and that pTunes skin mentioned above
Welcome to 1src, ahsirg.
1sc is not a place to get ROM-based applications. The best way is to get them directly from palmOne. If they're not available there then you won't find them here too.

Um....... isn’t it a bit late for that argument Joel?
We have some great "Shared" apps here at 1src and I don't see to many complaints. I'm sure the developers watch this space with great interest and are probably inspired by the determination of people here that "tweak" apps to suit their needs. If it wasn’t for this base of enthusiasts we would not have the diversity of applications.

Thanx amoon for supporting me :)
Joel! I know that it is not kinda-legal but I've seen on this forum ROM apps from the Clies and thought that it is allowed here. Besides, we dont steal anything.
So LifeDrive owners, bring da apps on!
Thanks in advance

NB: Just 'cause everybody's doing it don't make it right.
Remember, it's Joel et al who get it in the neck if Palm/Sony come a'knocking with the C&D's...
('tho admittely I'm being a total hypocrite ;))
It's not too late for anything. Remember, we could have gotten away with all these because the Clie is no longer in development. However, with the LifeDrive, we're getting new users aboard -- meaning more attention to what should and what should not be done. Probably unknown to some of you, 1src has been contacted by developers who (luckily) are kind enough to give us warnings... and guess what, we're the ones who answer to your actions not you. ;)
If you really need to "share" apps, my suggestion is to keep it off 1src. Period.
Veteran members, you understand all this...

How about that FAT32 driver?

How about that FAT32 driver?
There is a fat32.prc in the LD ROM, but I don't know yet if you can just copy it to a T5 and be able to access a FAT32 SD card...

I understand where your coming from Joel (sort of) but I'm confused (it’s not hard). You say that
"we could have gotten away with all these because the Clie is no longer in development"but surely the copy write laws don’t stop simply because someone’s not making them any more,
and,
"It's not too late for anything"Then I suppose we need to remove all the threads relating to "shared" programs.......but then I suppose the amount a "visiting" people and members would drop and we wouldn’t want that would we......
But the comment I like the most is, and wait for it….
Veteran members, you understand all this...Is this an effort to make me pull my head in, keep me quite, give you more respect?
Q. What makes us a “Veteran” of 1src? Is it the amount of posts we do? Is it our age and life experiences, please fill me in because not once in all my posts on this board (& yes it’s a great place) have I resorted to “belittling” someone here as part of a discussion.
Oh well I guess that this type of behaviour gets us nowhere and if I keep going I might not become a “Veteran” so I won’t comment again on this topic as its an argument that will rage for ever.
PS. Ask yourself this question, how many “Veterans” here at 1src do you think dabble in the dark side of warez (for those new younger, not yet “Veteran” members is pre-registered programs)……..I wonder.

Anyone actually read the license agreement that came with their device or is it still in the box?

True, but you have to consider the likelihood of the copyright owner suing you [CLIE - very very unlikely, palmOne - unlikely]
FWIW: I call this one of those "grey areas" of piracy. A lot of people do it (here and elsewhere), and the companies don't care or don't see enough harm for the legal costs and PR nightmares for fighting their user base.
Until they sue you (or more likely send a Cease-And-Desist order to the website owner) it is like the wild-wild-west - go crazy... Not explicitly permitted by the EULA licensing terms either, but that doesn't make it illegal -- just a possible legal hassle (still very unlikely IMHO)
It is up to Joel if he wants to to warn people preemptively
(FWIW: I think the horse has left the barn ;-)
----
BTW: the FAT32 driver appears to rely on some new Palm OS 5.4 system entry points. With a little work, perhaps it could be adapted to work on older devices. Very limited audience (ie. people with 4GB or larger MS/SD/CF storage)
