Hi from everyone's experience how soon does the hinge wear out from changing it back and forth between tablet and open form? I just got mine and want to know if there will be problems from changing between the modes. Thanks

I use mine daily and probably open and close and rotate it about 20 times a day. I've had it since it came out and it stills feels like the day it was born...such a happy day!!!

I have been using mine for almost two months now and I am constantly rotating the screen. No problems here.

Same here. When I am not using it I keep it closed with the screen inward for extra protection but I always use it in tablet mode. I probably having been flipping it 20 to 40 times a day for the last 5 months with no sign of any sort of wear or tear. Flips like it did the first day i got it
I used mine on tablet mode all the time...and it feels like the first day i bought it.......best purchased ever........

If one is overly heavy handed, then I could see a problem. So far have had no problems with two NR70 or NX70's in same household.

this is by far the sturdiest PDA i've ever felt. it feels more solid than any smaller, tablet PDA (a.k.a. all other models) even including the old Visor Deluxe i had. the screen is rated at something like 150,000 actions before it starts to wear-- that's about 15 years at 20 rotations a day... FWI: the T|T is rated (if memory serves me) at 5 years with 10 open/close actions per day.

Wait a minute, the hinge where you turn the display is sturdy, but the part that is screwed in that connects the display is very fragile, mine caught by the strap very slightly and came out on one side and would not be straightened out. It was a very slight bump but is is now crooked and when you look at them on display you see a lot that a the frame is lifting out of the display.

Does that mean I shouldn't put the little strap on? After everyone's comments I've decide the NX70 is a keeper.... as I am typing this it's charging in the cradle.

I've been twisting the screen for 3 months now...still like new.
I just bought an InnoPocket metal case, so I keep it in tricorder(tablet) mode now, the lid of the case protects the screen well enough
I also use the strap..it's not a burdon and, if ever, prevents the "sh*t if I'd only attached the strap... " etc :D

Same here also.
I use the NX60 in tablet mode most of the time. I probably have been flipping it 20+ times per day for the last 4 weeks with no sign of wear or tear. It flips like it did the first day i got it.

My experience has shown that the strap is all to easy to catch on something and get pulled out of one's hands.

I have had the NX70 for four months and have had no problems with the hinge. However, I a careful when I twist it and I am maybe only twisting it 10 times per day.
