I have two computers and would like to set up a network in my apartment without calling comcast...I have:
Comcast Motorolla 5120 Cable Modem
D-Link DI-614+(802.11b router)
D-Link G510 AirPlus G (802.11g Pci card)
Hp Pavillion running Win ME-AMD Athlon 850 320 meg sdram pc 133 wired to the D-link DI-614+
and
a A home built AMD 1500 1.53Ghz AthlonXP-Running Win XP and 512MB DDR pc266 ram
I connected everything, and it seemed to work, the Wireless card recognized the router, but then I couldn't get online..or access the other computer that was wired to the router...I have been trying to get it to work to no avail...I don't know what I am doing wrong....This is my first attempt at setting up a network and thought I was doing everything right.
Should I set up the Win XP computer as the primary? I don't really want to do this...I like the way I have it set up now, minus the lack of Internet Connection...
Any advice or help would be appreciated and I thank you in advance for your help.
