I just installed the Agendus 6.02 updated, and without thinking, the Agendus color icon set...

I spent a HUGE (ridiculous, really) ammount of time over the past few weeks collecting/converting hires icons to use in Agendus, which I stored in the default icon set. When I reinstalled the icon set that came with the Agendus update (it had the same name), it overwrote my file, and now all of those icons are gone!

Is there any way that I can get this back? Does the old file exist anywhere? I'm dying here!

(I do occasionally back up my files to my memory stick, but, unfortunately, haven't thought to do this lately, so that's no help.)

You wouldn't use backupbuddy, would you? If so, the old copy would be in stored on your harddrive.

As long as you were Hotsyncing regularly, the file should be located on your hard drive.

"X":\Program Files\Sony Handheld\"HotsyncName"\Backup

Thats where it should be located. Then you can just double-click it to reinstall back on your Clie.

That is what I was thinking as well:)

Thanks...

I checked the back-up folder, and it contains the overwritten file. I think that a hotsync replaces those files at the end of every sync--is this correct?

It looks to me like the new file simultaneously overwrote the version on my Clie and the version in the back-up folder...

Argh!

UhOh. So you did a hotsync with the changes? I don't think they are coming back then:(

No, I didn't do a hotsync with the changes (in other words, I didn't do a second hotsync). However, at the end of every hotsync my Clie screen says, "Please wait, backing up files" or something like that.

So it seems like both files were replaced during one hotsync--first on the handheld, and then, when that was backed up, on my PC.

I think that this must be the way it works, since it is definitely the new file in my backup folder...

So sorry. :( I had that happen once to me. Then I read somewhere on this forum that you should keep 2 rolling backups on you MS. So, I do that now. And it has saved me more than once. I use BackupMan and have it set to do a complete backup everynight a little after midnight. And I also have it set to only keep 2 on the stick. Really helped me out of a few jams.

Well here is an opportunity to mention BackUpMan which can have auto backups scheduled. For future preventative measures.
