I, for one, welcome the input from first adopters!
LD looks rockin'. I hope it's great! :)
Note:
Although I have my personal reservations, I want to go on record as giving P1 the benefit of the doubt with this device. Go P1!
-Please?

Size of the device, battery life, and the usual compatability issues with existing software are the questions I am waiting to get answered. The size is the most pressing question I have. I think P1 probably has the battery issue wrapped up (based on the T5 and E2) and I just need to feel one in hand to see if it is a pocketable comfortable size to use.... Cant wait!!

LOL! The free shipping offer mentions the LD by name but the further details links show an E2.
Sneaky by half.

Haven't you read the specs yet? While neither usable battery life infos nor battery size (in mAh) are given. But the size and many other infos are there.

Actually the LifeDrive is the first of a new product line and does not belong to the Tungsten line (see also the P1 announcement of the new category).

So... Reggie,
Will you be getting a LifeDrive?
Reggie

I might. I'll have to see the actual size first. ;)
Btw, unconfirmed reports say that the LifeDrives are now displayed in CompUSA shops. Can anyone verify? Please take photos beside Tungstens. I'm interested to see the thickness comparison.
Thanks.

I just noticed that the Palm Store web page is still up, and I can't help wondering if this isn't part of a guerrilla marketing ploy on their part. We've had some pretty serious leaks over the past few weeks, which has only served to increase anticipation and give any P1 employees reading these boards all sorts of information on user wants/needs, feature feedback, etc etc etc...
If Palm hadn't wanted us to see the LifeDrive mentioned on their site, or the info that was posted on Amazon, you can bet they'd have been gone in a NY minute.
Just my $.02, of course.
Mike
P.S. If P1 is engaged in some sort of backdoor marketing campaign, I must say that I don't mind being used. Of course, I'm pretty easy as it is... ;-)

Further confirmation: I received the June issue of Pop Sci yesterday and spotted the LifeDrive in the "What's New" section. Just a photo of the unit and a short blurb.

Has anybody else noticed this? There are two Tungsten E2's being displayed on PalmOne's store. They have two different item numbers, and I think the descriptions are slightly different. Also, one lists as one of it's offers the "Free overnight shipping on Lifedrive". Perhaps just a place holder until midnight tonight? :D
edit:Also, one is displayed as being more expensive than the T5, even though the price listed is $249. The suspense is killing me!

Looks like they pulled it already...it just shows "Free Shipping on all new Handhelds" now.

I got a printout before they did, though. Hopefully tomorrow the point will be moot anyways. :)

So the question is...will they post it at midnight (if so, I'll stay up and place my order), or should I just wait and see tomorrow morning? Hmmm....

[QUOTE=poissonsouriant] The suspense is killing me!
Dont be killed by the suspence you might try this medication PATIENCE it always cures,
well it is a question of hours that is painful and the suspense has been too greivous i understand and i hope it will be worth it and we will not be decieved by PalmOne this time, this device is indeed going to be a killer i believe.

However, it still says "Free Overnight Shipping on LifeDrive when selected during checkout!" ... on the Tunsten E2 page.

But now that the LifeDrive is confirmed, my question is: When will sth like the LD come with Cobalt as OS???

palmOne's site is usually updated some time after midnight and before 6am EST.
But now that the LifeDrive is confirmed, my question is: When will sth like the LD come with Cobalt as OS?
The LifeDrive will have Palm OS Garnet (5.x) installed in ROM.

nono, i know its not part of the tungsten line, but im saying that 1src should have a new catagory for the lifedrive. Like the ones under the "PalmOne" bold text (zire, treo, tungsten).
but it appears that the LifeDrive catagory got created
