:)

Splash Damage has announced that they are developing Enemy Territory: Quake Wars in collaboration with id Software and Activision.

Enemy Territory: Quake Wars will feature id Software's new MegaTexture rendering technology.

With realistic dynamic lighting and shadowing from headlights, searchlights and even the moon, battles can be fought during the day or night; while accurate simulation of the atmosphere, weather, and vegetation combine to create an unparalleled degree of realism. Battlefields are perfectly rendered using MegaTexture, a totally new rendering technology developed by id Software that crunches millions of polygons and a gigabyte-scale texture into a single, seamless and un-tiled landscape with unique detail down to the square inch or the un-obscured distant horizon.

Sweeet. :D I can give FPSs a chance again if they look this good. But you'll never pry me away from games like Warcraft 3.

Definately holding off on a PC upgrade, not that I have the money to do it now anyways. :)

Speaking of which - guess what is due out real soon
Quake 4 (http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/quake4/preview_6123899.html)

I like the fact that it would be similar to Quake 2 which means story based. Quake 3 was cool on the graphics but it was just a tournament ... UT2004 was much better ..

I loved Q2 now I'm just waiting for the Q4... :)

Quake is great. I always thought of it as Doom lite when it comes to the horror. :)

actually they will probalby be running on the same engine ... so you could expect atleast the same look and feel for Q4 as you do for D3 ... :)

Same look, but you know, less of the demon horror. :) I've always like Quake better than the Doom series.

Not as scary, but more fun.
I like it.

I liked Q2 because it was one of the first FPS games that I played. There is generally nothing quite like the first one :) .... Doom seems to have freaked out a lot of people - I guess androids, cyborgs and the likes arent quite so scary - I wonder if Q4 will have the same graphic specs like Doom 3 - speaking of which - I have the Linux Demo version - any ideas if it would run on my PC ? - 16 MB ATI vid card 512 RAM ???
