I read the post: "NX70 WiFi, notebook, and the internet" and found that it is possible to browse the Web with my Clie and a PC in adhoc mode when using Windows 2000 or XP.
I have a laptop with Windows 98 SE and I'd like to know if it is possible with this operating system to do something like IP forwarding or bridging or something else that would allow me to browse the Internet through my W98 computer in mode adhoc.
My laptop wireless card is a Linksys WPC54G and my Clie has a WL100

yes, it is possible. I posted in the wireless forum an almost duplicate scenario and through a call to sony, and some sluething on this bbs, I got it going. I have an NX, WL100, Netgear PC wireless card, Win 98 SE, and a desktop. Win 98 SE has " internet sharing" do a windows help search on this topic, and you should get all the info you need. when it gives you the new IP for internet sharing, choose a number that is 1 higher than the specified IP for your NX's IP, then find your subnet mask (don't ask me how, but it's not hard), and put in your PC's IP for your gateway adress, primary and secondary DNS, and uncheck powersave. I can surf using netfront, and wirelessly hotsync. I am Proof that it works. good luck

P.S. all this is done in "ADHOC" mode, so yeah, that works too.

Your 54G card may or may not be compatible with the clie. Irregardless, you will have to stay in single 802.11b mode.

Well, looks like I have problems with the 54G card. Linksys Support told me that it should work well with 821.11b devices but It doesn't show any signal when in adhoc mode.
I just found that they have a new driver available in their Web Site so I will download it.

Thanks to keesercc for the information, I'll try Internet sharing as soon as I get my new driver. At least now I know that it shouldl work!
