We use some 128Mb sticks at work between computers, and while discovering that SanDisk readers screw up the sticks, I found out that my T665 has trouble reading 128Mb memory sticks.

First, we put in a blank 128 stick to check it against the computer, and my Clie only recognized 64 megs, of which it said 55.3 megs were used (though it listed no files on the stick).

Then, we put another 128Mb stick in, that had about 25megs used, and this time it recognized 123.4 megs, but said that 55.3 megs were used (just like the first card). Any ideas what might be going on?

TIA

Must be a ghost, I have been thinking about this since I first read it yesterday, all I can come up with is that it needs to be formatted, but seeing that you aren't stupid I bet you already tried that. Also, if the card is under warranty they will usually replace it fairly easily.

We figured it out today. He had formated the memory stick via his computer. Flash memory devices (PDA's, cameras, etc) need a more substantial formating, and get confused when they see a Windows format.

So, if you need to format your memory stick, do it on your Clie, not pc. (we haven't tried formating via our Linux machines, though, but we'd probably have the same problem).

Yep, gotta format it in the Clie!
