Once you're paired up for SMS, you need to go into Network Settings on the ux50 (under Preferences)
1. Choose one of the existing or create a new service titled 'Cingular GPRS'
2. Your user name and password should be the same as on your phone.
3. Connection should be set to the appropriate Bluetooth connection.
4. Select 'Details' and make sure you have: PPP, 1 minute and DNS and IP are both checked.
5. Select Script
6. First line: Send: atd*99#
7. Second line: Send CR:
8. Third line: Wait For: CONNECT
9. Last line: End:
One of the problems I had setting up my ux50 with AT&T was that I was unaware of the Script commands (or need of them.) The helpdesk people at Cingular are GREAT at helping get through this stuff. Also, to get it to work properly I had to do a hard reset. . .don't know why, but I spent HOURS on the phone with them trying.
I hope this gets you closer. If not I'd give them a call (use 611--free call!)

After trying everything I could, with all the help I could get, I finally sprang for a little app call COMA (COnnection MAnager). I was online within 10minutes.

Glad to hear you got it working. Don't know if it was necessary, but if you're happy, we're happy. ;)
