I wanted to give a heads up for an awesome deal that others can take advantage of.

I just ordered a refurbished NX70V/UH (Grey) from overstock.com for $360. It is listed at $400 using this link (http://www.overstock.com/cgi-bin/d2.cgi?PAGE=PROFRAME&PROD_ID=220332). I then looked at 247malls.com and found a 10% off coupon found here (http://247malls.com/couponredeem.php3?ID=11657&callkat=&callcat=&callukat=&callmerchant=&dest=coupons), which brought it down to $360. I may have ordered the only grey model, but it looks like they still have more of the silver.

Use the link for 247malls.com to activate the coupon, then uses the CLIE link and add it to your cart. Happy shopping!

Their return policy is within 20 days (to initiate the process), but there is a 15% restocking fee.

Sony provides a 90 day warranty, which is the same out-of-the-box warranty for new items. New items can, however, be extended to a one year warranty by registering online; refurbished items do not qualify for this extension.

Overstock offered a two year "extended protection plan" for $45.99, although since it wasn't offered by Sony, I'm dubious as to what they'd really be able to offer as a benefit.

me too. got a grey one from Overstock as well, which is much more Bond-like, I think.

My Palm V finally died after 3+ happy years. The NX is like a machibne from another planet. The screen is wonderful, it's wicked fast.

Yeah ovestock.com has cheap prices and cheap shipping but I remember back a year ago they got into a lot of trouble for false advertising of their products. They tend to not say when accessories are missing.

But then again they also never mentioned when items were OEM or refurbs which they do now. Maybe they've cleaned up their act?

Also, while the shipping my be cheap ($3!) be prepared to wait a while. After processing and charging your credit card it can take them up to -5 days(!)- just to take your package -to be shipped- so expect to wait roughly 2 weeks to get your order.

$249? LOL riiiiight.... Dont worry about overstock, they have had trouble in the past because they just didnt know what they had when they sold it..BAD IDEA. They have since seriously upgraded EVERYTHING, including their customer service. I know 2 people who got NX70's from them and they came just like new, sealed with ALL accessories. Only difference was a sticker that said refurbished do not sell as new or something. They SAY there is a restocking fee but if you do not get what you thought you were getting they take it back no prob. Bought many things from them.

I've had my NX70 from Overstock for about a month. Couldn't be happier. Everything was included in the box, and the "refurbished" sticker comes off easy if you don't like the looks.

I even was able to register the unit with Sony's web site and get the discount coupon in the mail, etc.

I only wish I had gotten this new lower price, but mine was still a great deal at $400.00

I ordered the black NX70 from overstock. Charged it up, and the touchscreen would not work. Did a soft and hard reset, and now after the resets (either one), the unit will not power down. I have to drain the battery, recharge, and the same story over again.

I emailed overstock. They said they would not do the exchange until I speak to technical service. Supposedly, they will call me. Then I get an email from them telling me to do a hard reset. It's getting really annoying.

I got my NX70V from Overstock yesterday. It looks and works great! The only way I could tell it was refurbished was by the brown box it came in instead of the typical Clié green, and there was a small sticker on the back of the unit saying it was refurbished.

Everything was in the box that was supposed to be there and the Clié's working great.

I'm a happy camper.

I recently purchased the NX70V from overstock.com received the item 3 days from when I placed the order. Received email confirmation every step of the way, Corfirmation of the order, then another email confirming shipping. Everything that is included with retail box was included with the shipment in the Sony Refurb. (Brown box) shipment from overstock.

All the items were received in like new condition, I 'm very pleased with my shopping experience at overstock.com and would purchase from them again, YMMV.....but my experience has been 1st. Rate.

Mine shipped within 12 hours of ordering. I ordered it wednesday and got it today, Saturday and I payed a whopping $2.95 for shipping. Not played with it yet but everything is there, sealed, just like new, not a blemish anywhere!!! Brown box here as well. Unregistered they will refund your money. I have bought Sony stuff BRAND new and it not work. It happens, the failure rate on high-end electronics, ESPECIALLY PALMS, is fairly high (3%) but most of those problems develope within 90 days. Remember that Sony also covers you there even though it is a refurb. Everybody be sure to register your clie online and get 25% off all accessories!!!!

Thanks for the headsup! With the additional coupon, the price on the NX70 was just too good to resist. I'm looking forward to bugging everyone in this forum with a thousand newbie questions.

Actually, here is the first question. Is it possible to have the NX70 loop a video endlessly while it is in the cradle? I'd like to have a either a movie, or better yet a flash movie, of ripples in a lake (or a waterfall). I think this would be a nice, tranquil addition to my workplace.

Yes. In the Movie Player there is an option where you can turn on movie looping. Not a bad idea though...might have to try that myself.

I just called them to see if I could add that warranty but since it shipped already they had to get back to me.

I think it adds value to the unit, especailly if you are like me and likely to upgrade in the next 6 months or so...

If you go throught the coupon link above your final shipped price is $362 from overstock. Final shipped price from Amazon is $462 but you get $50 in rebate back. Some states DO charge tax on Amazon. The unit I got from overstock was PERFECT, but if you are more comfy with a new unit $412 after rebate is a great price. Both units come with the same warranty...

Hi,
I just got my NX70V from overstock.com.

The battery appears drained, I can't turn it on. But when I place it in the charger, the unit appears to boot up but then cuts off and I can't turn it on with any of the hard keys.

It's sitting in the charger now and the charge light is on.

Is the battery just totally drained and I need to wait a few hours?

Just got my PDA from overstock.com. Damn thing looks brand new. Anyway I'm currently charging it and noticed that when I open the unit in the cradle (While its charging) the screen is flashing on and off. Is that normal?

No, I started charging it and noticed that when I opened the screen just to look at it the screen was flashing on and off white to black screen. But once I hit the power button and set up the PDA (Date, time, etc.) it stopped and I turned it off to let it charge.

I have seen many people say they received their orders from Overstock.com in just 2-3 days. I can't help but wonder if these people are on the west coast. I have already waited 5 days and there is no tracking information available using FedEx. According to the person I talked to at Overstock.com, shipments to the northeast are bulk shipped (slowly) to Ohio before they show on the FedEx system and that it would take 5 BUSINESS days just to show up at the distribution center. It could take another 5 business days to arrive. Not what I call fast. I suppose I was a little mislead where the Overstock.com website said this does not delay shipments! Two days versus two weeks is a pretty long delay.

At least you found out it takes 5 days to hit Ohio, they didn't tell me 5 days or that it would be going to Ohio. My wi-fi card should be here tomorrow, now all I need is a compact flash card and I will be all set......by some time next week.....

I am somewhat your pain is like people... I got my NX70 from eBay, and the dude took more than THREE weeks to send the PDA... at least it's working perfect so far, and it is such a beauty to use and behold... LOL!

These are not really refurbished, they are BRAND NEW UNITS that Sony is liquidating. They put a sticker on it to prevent resale as new but the original NEW serial has not been changed. REgister them AS NEW and get the year extended warranty!

Palmos, don't count on it, if what they are selling now are overstock (literally), you won't see the gunmetal because it sold very well and was only available in limited quantity.

Thank you, hherbzilla, for the timely response. I gues you may be one of the more recent buyer, how much did you get yours for? Is the $360.00 offer still available? Also, could you get good discount on MS from the same place? If not, where may one find a good price for a good MS?

I have never had MS before but know that there is now MS Pro available, but the price is still too steep. For regular PDA useage, is the regular MS good enough? Along with that, what brand, besides Sony's MS is recommended?

With respect to my original post, what has been the experiences of others.

Yes, I got the NX70V about a week ago now. I bought it for the $362 price that others have talked about (after the 10% discount).

About the MS, there are various threads here that talk about good deals (e.g., at buy.com, amazon, etc.). Keep an eye out or search around and you'll find them.

I got mine in yesterday, and was almost overwhelmingly impressed. My unit was new, in perfect condition, the cradle had a smudge on the back (not a big deal) and all the other accessories looked brand new. I say I was almost thoroughly impressed because it came with the manual and CD for the SL10/SJ20/SJ30 instead of the NX series. I am currently working with customer service to rectify the situation but had to do some creative work to get a copy of the CD in the meantime. Still worth $360.....

Well after 5 days in FedEx limbo, my NX70V showed up on the system Tuesday and it was delivered Wednesday.  Just short of a week so I can't complain.  Everything was just as others described.  Everything was either new or as new.  All the correct accessories were included.  I couldn't be any happier since I am upgrading from a Handspring Visor Deluxe (a dinosaur by comparison).  The refurbished sticker was easily removed and I was able to register the unit with Sony.  The S/N does not correspond with a refurbished unit.  I can't believe how great a deal this was!
