i know that the price is the same. i also know that i know nothing about pocket pc's...and until i saw the 1910 i was dead set on the sj33. i like the size of the ipaq, but i know more about the sj33. haven't committed to either yet, but every time i'm in the store....the 1910 is calling my name....
what to do what to do.....
some pros and cons of both would be great!!!!

Ooh, this is a good one. I thought about these 2 a bit before picking the CLIE. Here are my personal pro's and con's-
CLIE
Palm OS easier for basic PDA tasks IMO (seem to need less taps for most stuff)
Better battery life
Battery does not drain as much when powered off (why do PPC's do this?)
Shadow organizer program with desktop synchronization (haven't found anything equivalent on PPC)
Full-sized Stowaway keyboard available, iPaq doesn't even have Pocketop driver yet much less a full-sized folding keyboard
Docs To Go for perfect 2-way synchronization
Great MP3 quality (although iPaq may sound just as good or better, I don't know)
Built-in flip cover
Built-in memo pad app that synchs with Outlook Notes (can buy 3rd party program for PPC)
iPAQ
Slightly better screen? (from comparing at store, very close though)
Full-size 240x320 screen (although total resolution is actually less)
Larger-sized memory media available (128 MB MS limit SUCKS)
Able to read HTML docs directly without conversion
Faster at viewing image files (faster than AcidImage)
Voice memo
Video/ Divx playback (not very significant for me)
Snazzy games (but I don't play much games on my PDA)
More powerful machine w/ overclocking (though not significant for my important tasks)
Again, those are just my personal pro's and con's, from most significant to least significant. Someone else may have a whole different list of relevant features. For me, the iPAQ definitely has a 'coolness' factor, but there were certain practical features that really made the CLIE the beter choice for me. I really use Shadow a lot, so that app in itself is a biggie. I basically can do everything on my CLIE that I used to do on my notebook computer.

ah, the battle for low end pda supremacy
The 1910 is a good machine. However,it has no SDIO, meaning that all the SD slot can take is memory cards. The clie is better in this regard. Multimedia goes to the ipaq. It all depends on what is more important for you. If you tell what is important in a PDA, we can help make a better decision.

Actually, the iPAQ Pocketop driver has just come out. So there is a keyboard available.

The Ipaq is a great machine. However, I had an ipaq 3955 for about 2 weeks before deciding to return it and get a clie, the ipaq had to be reset at least 10 times while I had it (soft) it was wierd to sync with my computer (kind of hard at times), I didn't like the whole idea of having to closing each item down in task manager before it was actually closed. Apps that I installed were rather difficult to get to. That was about all. The screen was absolutely georgeous, but so is my t665, the speaker was nice and loud (I don't recall if the 1910 has an external speaker). Just my thoughts.
Forgot to mention, I think the 200mhz processor would be nicer for video and games.

I was getting pretty close to replacing my S300 with the 1910. I spent a good amount of time playing with it at Office Depot. I ended up getting an SJ30 and haven't looked back. It all comes down to quality for me. The 1910 is MUCH less reliable in my opinion. Often then store display model was even locked up! Also, the battery life on my SJ30 is simply wonderful. Don't need to charge it for several days! The SJ33 battery is even BETTER!
Also, the 1910 doesn't come with a case...very cheap in my opinion. And it's difficult to find a good 3rd party case.
Go Clie - you'll be glad!
My 2 cents.

Ouch!
Well...this IS a CLIE forum...
Of course the answers are going to be biased. I'm sure sollars9082 realizes that. I doubt I'd be even reading this if I decided on HP...

I think that many of these replies have been as unbiased as possible.
I do have to say that the Clie would be far more reliable, as the PPCOS is prone to automatic soft resets and locks up a lot. Whatever you decide, you can't go wrong...
Now where's ___ to boast about how awesome the 1910 is??? :o

On the Palm side, iSiloX just added a 'clipper' button to IE that allows more convenient saving of web pages. Very nice.
