Best method to get video from Mac to TH55?

I've searched and searched but I'm still struggling. What is the best way to get quicktime movies on my TH55.

I can't open any quicktime movies in IC 2.1 (see other post). I am able to convert these same files in IC 1.1.

I want to get the best quality possible. Can someone give me the workflow? What apps to use on both the Mac and what movie player to use?

Should I just buy QTPro and convert to MPEG4? What player can play MPEG4?

Do a google search for ffmpegx. It can convert to many formats, though getting it to work with the built in player is difficult.

What file types on Mac are you trying to convert to view on TH55? I use several Mac apps which do different things depending on original format.

I'm starting out with my own iMovies, which I've been exporting as QuickTime files for .mac's Homepage. These are small 2-5 minute movies of my kids. I'm hoping that I can just export in iMovie using Expert Settings and that the output would play on the Clie but I haven't had luck.

I use a Mac at home but I sync my TH55 with a Win2000 PC at work. I can burn the movies on to CD and take that to work.

I can't open any of my iMovies in Image Converter 2.1 or IC1.5 on the PC. I can open the same files in Image Converter 1.1 (before I upgraded it to 1.5). So, if there is a way I can eliminate IC--or fix this issue--that would be great.

Any tips on the exact settings/codecs to use would be great.

I'd also like to try taking some of my DVDs to the Clie but that is secondary.

I just bought a 512mb MemoryStick so I'm looking to get the best quality possible on the TH55.

I use ffmpegx to convert .dv files or .mov files (both generated/converted by iMovie) into .mp4 (mpeg-4), aac audio, 320x320 resolution. From there, TCPMP handles them beautifully.

I have found that stripped down .mov files don't seem to want to convert properly... or at least I am not intelligent enough to figure out how to make them work...
