Jazz Fest tripped over upturned concrete from a tree, fell hard on top of my camera bag. If I had had one of my old hard plastic cameras, it would look like my hand does. :) Anyhow, camera and lens in bag broke a filter and "slightly" bent the hotshoe it may even still work but I don't have an external flash to know. The D70 is still going strong. For those who think that is a minor fall, I weigh 400lbs, I do not have "minor" falls. :)
It's good to know the camera's ok. :D (sorry can't resist saying that)

yeah, the world would miss a D70. ;) The hand heals on its own. :)

Naw. Single use cardboard cameras "crush'' hard plastic cameras like my old 5400 just break off pieces. My right side from knee to wrist is a combination of bruises and road rash. my hand hit as hard as the bag, it lost a couple chunks of flesh. I lucked out all-in-all. no missing digits though the New Orleans Police really did joke about amputating. Dry humor to offset humd climate?

The advantage of being below sea level, when ever you fall, it's never as high. :p
