When I try to do a "Find", no matter what I enter, when I hit OK, I get "Fatal Alert" Emul68KMain.c, Line:456, line 1111 exception at address 00AE9C64" Then I have to Reset. I have asked Palm Support <joke>, and get told to do a hard reset, delete third party software, etc.; but this Tungsten worked just fine, including Find; and I haven't recently added any software. What on earth is this, please??

In many cases problems with the Find function relates to a problem with Docs to Go. In the preferences of Docs to Go, uncheck the box "include WordtoGo in Global find". Updating to the latest version of Docs to Go may also help with that problem (in my case, upgrade from 6.003 to 6.008).

Thanks, Ziggy; I did as you suggested; my next "Find" produced almost the same error message, however, just "address 00AE982" instead of "address 00AE9C64". What can I try, now? I actually have never used Docs to Go; maybe I should delete it? If so, how?

You havent said what device that you are using Beach, so I guess that you are using the T5 because this is a yet to be fixed issue on palmOne's side. Updating your Documents to Go to the latest version will help, but you will also want to do what ZIggy suggsted above.

I think I have a Tungsten E; how do I tell? The Applications screen says v.4.5.1P, for what that's worth. My version of Docs to Go is 6.002 (643). Like I said, I have never used Docs to Go; but if you all think it might help, I can go to dataviz and update the version. I DID turn off "Include in global find," for each of the programs (Word to Go, etc.). Been using this Palm for two years, and never had a problem like this before.

Oops! I spoke too soon! When I wrote the paragraph above, I had only turned off Docs to Go/global find for Word to Go; when I turned it off for Sheet to Go and for Slideshow to Go also, and then ran a "Find," it went just as it should; so my apologies for doubting Ziggy's solution, and my thanks to you all!

The model is usually painted on the front of the device or on the back sticker.

Glad to hear you found a workaround for the problem.

Cheers!
