Which one has Better Screen??
Its a HVGA OLED vs a strange resolution LCD. No comparison on usefulness or clarity, or brightness.

NOTE: Surgically altered PSP (way-too-easy-to-scratch plastic screen removed exposing the raw LCD) on the bottom, VZ90 on the top.

----
For a large number of reasons, the VZ90 blows away the PSP for media playing (movies, music, photos, you-name-it).
The cheaper PSP has fewer pixels and a non-standard resolution, but is 24bit color (the CLIE is 16-bit color like most color PDAs). The only option for playing UMD discs.

Overall no comparison (get a PDA for PDA features or Tetris-like games, get a PSP if you want to play $40->$50 high powered games).

Don't forget that the PSP also has alot of dead pixels.

The Psp has a great screen but the autonomy is quite bad... So for my videos, I still use the VZ...
Moreover, it's always the same problem, 99% of the movies or videos I have are in 4/3 ratio (anime, TV shows), so the "quite" 16/9 psp screen is not really interesting for me...

Is this really true?

All the people I know who have PSPs have perfect screens, not a single dead pixel!

I will say the PSP screen does look fantastic - Slightly, but noticably, better than my beloved TH55 :)
I doubt I'll get one 'tho - The games are far too expensive, and when you take that away from a PSP, what's left? :(

I'd love to see a VZ screen - If it's really better than a PSP's it must be absolutely gorgeous :D

My PSP has three or four dead pixels, but i can ONLY see them when i run the different colored backimages (red/green/white/black/etc) and interestingly not during normal use.

the VZ screen is truly amazing. nothing i've seen as to yet can even come close (though the PSP came closer than anything else). it's too bad that barely anyone in the states owns one.

the screen on the psp isn't really that bad, its pretty good for a price of 299 CAD

i think the PSP is better overall. I mean the VZ is in japanese and who wants to spend endless hours trying to "decode" all those characters. Why not buy a PSP and a UX50 for the same price, (probably even less) as the VZ. ?????????

First of all, the VZ's screen itself is worth the price. add on better than PSP media capabilities, more oppurtunity for expandability (thousands of POS progs) and the best batt life/memory ever seen on a palm handheld, and it sold me. the japanese adds an element of foreign intrigue, and plus JAm's/CliePet's translation utilities (plus a little tinkering of my own) make it at least 80% english (considering i've installed nothing but english and french apps)

If you look at cliepets link to the different PDA screens, i could only bearly see a difference in the screen. I dont think the screen is worth it, but thats my opinion and who cares!!

you call that "minimal"? admittedley, the PSP has an awesome screen, but it in NO way can compare to OLED (you have to see them both together in real life).

also, if i may quote CliePet: "Overall no comparison". When it comes right down to it, they're totally aimed at different things. Even though Sony is hyping the PSP as a media gadget, it's really not (no $50 games for VZ, no awesome media for PSP... at least not until someone hacks it)
