Anyone have tips on syncing two different pda's? I have a palm m105 (used for notes w/ keyboard) and an NX70v. I'd like to be able to use both....

I don't think you should have any problem syncing both of them if all the data on the PDAs are the same and you want to keep all the programs on both PDAs.

Use TWO different usernames. It will work nicely then.

Hey Rob, Did mods make you change your avatar? If so, I think it should still be that one women looking kind of sideways, it was hilarious!!! And it shouldn't offend anyone!

Just checking...using two different user names means buying all palm software twice, right? At least as far as the software you'd want to have on both machines.

I have a NR70V and my wife uses my old S320. Both are connected to the same PC with Microsoft XP. I get a soft reset of the PC after changing PC users when attempting a sync. I have uninstalled and reinstalled handheld software with same problem. Any suggestions? This is really annoying!

Maybe you need to change the interface everytime you need to sync the deivce.

I think for you to use shareware on both PDAs, like it was said in the previous posts, you have to use the same username on both PDAs.

Since it is a hack, it probably won't work on OS 5

Hmm...I don't know...but i see this in the manual
Even Tweak User is a system extension based on Notifications and not a hack all
the precautions usually recommended when installing a hack should be considered
to protect yourself against potential data loss:
Does that mean it is not a hack and can be use with OS5??
Can anyone try this out on OS5 and tell us the result??

I tried it out on my TG-50 and got the following message:
"The System Preferences of your handheld are not compatible with the current version of this application"
I guess that means it does not work with OS 5

I haven't done it before, but I assume you'll just have to go into Hotsync manager and change the port before hotsyncing to the other device.

You might have to switch it manualy from the Hotsync app on your desktop

you mean what i ask you to try out didn't work??
sigh....
But i guess if it still work on my rusty old Visor, it still work for my TG-50 + Visor. I can install it on my Visor, with my app on the same username with my TG-50. and use another name for sync the databook for my wife

According to Sony technical support, Windows XP does not support multiple PC logins AND multiple handheld syncing without an automated "soft reset" happening each time a sync is initiated after switching PC login users. Their suggestion was to keep the PC to a single default login to support the multiple handhelds. So far this has fixed my problem, except for the distinguished PC user logins. Oh well.

saerdahl, sorry but we are not talking about windows xp username here...we are talking about palm desktop username and the clie's username :)
What I do (and have done it with Win98 laptop and WinXP desktop) is this: after synching my main pda normally, I do a 'custom' synch by changing everything except System to "desktop overwrites handheld". That assumes you're not entering information also on the second pda. I have the same user name on both pda's.
Regarding synching with 2 different connnection methods (cable + USB), I don't have any answer or experience.

FYI...Downloaded palm desktop v.4.1 and with WinXP, must have only 1 user currently having hotsync manager running. No problems now with multiple handheld syncing.

Have you tried manually changing the port for the hotsync yet?

I assume you have tried having both "local USB" and "local serial" checked in the hot sync system tray preferences?
I've trying to sync my T615c and TG50 with the same hot sync name. I don't see an easy way to do it on the same computer...so I suppose I'll have to use my spare computer to sync my 615 and my main computer and laptop for the TG50.
