Trouble exporting files from Visor to PEG-SJ22

Can anyone help out a techie-neophyte?

I've just tried to transfer my standard files (date book, contacts, to do list, and memo pad) from my Handspring Visor Deluxe to the PEG-SJ22, and found that only my date book would be imported. This is on a desktop that's running Windows 2000 Professional.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and if so, how have you gotten around it?

I don't remember exactly how I did it but I would just try hotsyncing without installing the Clie Desktop. I think that should work. At the moment I am not using the Clie Desktop at all. I prefer the Palm desktop from Palm.com

I found the instructions on the Sony web site after I'd done it wrong (duh). It's in their CLIE Handheld Top 10 FAQ. Here's the link:

I don't think it has elf's good tip about setting up the categories first which is a great idea--I lost all my categories when I finally managed to get everything transferred over.
