Forgot to include this with my previous post...

Am a longtime user of FastCPU. Anyone here using it [v3.0] on their T615? Looking for experiences and more importantly, safe overclocking thresholds...I have FastCPU running globally for all apps at 38mhz, with selected ones running at 42mhz [iSilo, Palmreader, AvantGo, Zagat, heavy stuff stuff like that].

Currently I am having problems receiving beams from my Vx to the 615. Have verified that the IR port is working correctly by installing Sony's Remote Commander...no probs controlling my DVD player from across the room so I know IR SEND is OK....But despite FastCPU claims that FastCPU auto-disables for IR receive functions, I still cannot get IR receive to work. Tried deleting FastCPU, but IR receive behavior still sporadic [requiring soft resets] so maybe I have more problems than I think.

Am kinda considering ditching FastCPU completely, but would hate to do it as I really feel that FastCPU makes a noticeable difference in the "jumpiness" of my T615.

So, any and all thoughts on FastCPU in specific and overclocking CLIEs in general welcome...

again, TIA....

I heard globally setting to anything higher than 33 MHz would be problem, particularly for beaming. I just custom set some apps that requires faster speed like WorldMate, QuickSheet, StreetFinder, etc., and leave the rest to the default speed.

A stylus swipe to the left (or was it right?) is supposed to flash a message across the screen, and then (temporarily) permit IR communication. I tried it once and it works, but I'll have to go through my notes again.

I just bought a slip-on keyboard for my T615 (Systech by Citypack), but it won't function until Fast CPU is turned off. Incidentally, I can't use that keyboard with Wordsmith 2.2 . It gives me a fatal error ... fortunately it's just a simple reset.

In the interest of battery charge life, I generally keep my fast CPU off, although that extra speed sure is welcome at times.
